We drove down from Poughkeepsie for an afternoon matinee of a Broadway show. We checked on Open Table for available restaurants in the area and Remi scored higher than any other in that area of NYC. So, we reserved and went to the show. We arrived to Remi about 30 minutes prior to our scheduled reservation and they were very... More

The Osso Bucco was very near perfect as well as the entire meal yet the noise level was disarming, distracting. Unfortunately, the hard walls and vacuous room bounces sounds around the very high walls and windows. Overall, a well organized group with premium food stuff and delicate preparations. Great midtown location around the corner from the London NY Hotel.

This is an excellent restaurant in NYC - and handy to all the Manhattan attractions. The food was excellent - carpaccio was beautifully presented, and their main entrees were tasty, and the quality excellent. The décor is interesting and reflective of the Venice that I visit yearly.

This place has an odd layout and the high ceilings do not make for a comfortable atmosphere. I had lobster ravioli and did not care for it much at all. My husband was happier with his dish.

This is quite an exclusive Italian restaurant. Lovely setting, lots of staff on. Everyone friendly and attentive. Eating alone is never easy and they sat me at a great table where I didn't feel exposed. Free bread and dips. My pasta was a little salty. Price reflects surroundings, not cheap.

The location is great and on entry one is impressed by the decor. There any semblance of quality disappears. The food quality is distinctly average and despite the executive chef and chef de cuisine putting their names on the menu, one wonders if there was any quality control in the kitchen. Food presentation is poor and main courses covered in... More

I immediately liked the decor of this restaurant. There was a large mural of Venice, and in the front I noticed large oars hanging as artwork. The hostess said that "remi" means oars or rowing in Italian. When we were seated at our table, I noticed that the lighting was perfect--flattering, and not too dim or bright. Nice. The waiter... Some business colleagues and I had dinner here. The colleague who suggested it thought it would be quiet enough to talk and it was but not romantic which suited our needs. I had grilled artichokes to start and liver with polenta. The artichokes were pretty good as was the polenta but the liver was very overcooked even though I requested... More

I was visiting New York with my daughter and had felt totally ripped off by the $18 cocktails at The Marriott. We saw a board outside this bar offering all day $6 cocktails. We weren't expecting much but what a fantastic place. Fantastic décor, relaxed atmosphere, and an awesome barman who looked after us really well. It was so good... More

The menu and the food are hardly spectacular and the restaurant's decor and set up are okay but certainly not reason enough to go. However the service is good and the food - though predictable is not bad. Its really just an average restaurant but the dearth of decent restaurants in Midtown and the friendly service make it an okay... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
