Pongsri Thai has undergone a sleek modern renovation doing away with the bamboo decor for a long bar, modern tables which could accommodate easily 6-8 and probably 12 with advance warning. The chicken and peanut sauce was good, crisply breaded cutlets and a thick zesty spicy satay. Better was the same sauce over sauteed thin slices of chicken breast and... More

At least everything else I had was great. It's usually mobbed for lunch on weekdays. I just went on a Saturday night and plenty of tables. Delicious food, extremely reasonable!

First - the signs on the Restaurant say Pongsri but Google Maps have them listed as Thai Jasmine Restaurant....this can be a little confusing. Second - they have a menu on a door that looks like the entrance but it isn't. Follow the arrows to the entrance....this confused everyone. But it's worth the struggle. The food is really great. And... More

I stumbled across this gem one afternoon and found myself going back many times since. The food is very good. Their Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are one of best and you can taste the wok smokey flavor- 2 thumbs up! Love their Thai ice coffee too. Then there's wonderful service. All the staff are polite and always with... More

I was here for lunch and ordered the "Pad Priow Wan" (sweet and sour) with chicken from the "Lunch Specials" part of the menu for $7.95. Rice was included. (The lunch specials are good weekdays until 4:00 pm.) I added a Diet Coke to drink. My chicken dish was edible but not as good as the sweet and sour chicken... More

The service was good, the location is great, and the shrimp soup was KILLER!! Loved the lemongrass - just the right touch for this Anglo. Good amount of shrimp. Kept hot by the service pot. No doubt I'll be back. (I am a soup sucker - so that could be part of it - but certainly not all of it!!).... More

Had a quick dinner here. Fast friendly service. Menus sticky. Food ok but not special. Limited dessert menu. Probably good for take away.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
