Impression-gluten friendly, warm and welcoming service, romantic atmosphere in the dining room and happy in the bar, delicious food, more than adequate by the glass wine selections, extensive wine list with reasonable pricing, hospitality included, very expensive My wife and I arrived on time for our 12:45 reservation and were seated promptly. The entry way has a few places to... More

This was soooo good. Our table got the tasting menu and we were not dissappointed. Everything was incredible. The staff was extremely friendly and the night was one of those amazing nights because of this restaurant. I was worried I might be a bit underdressed, but it was fine and I didn't feel judged, haha.

We had a Sunday lunch for 5 and every meal was perfect. They were particularly attentive to my husband's allergy and even made a special non- dairy dessert that was so delicious I ate most of it! They did not rush us, pace was great, ambiance extraordinary. Look forward to next excuse to go there!

Went to NYC during April 2017. First visit was for dinner. We had the duck liver mousse to start and O.M.G. was it ever divine. For entrees my friend had monkfish and I had the lamb. Both were delicious. We were in awe at how amazing the food was. JUST GO! We did not do the set dinner menu, but... More

Great Gluten Free choices. They had no trouble substituting between the tasting menus. Wine choices were spot on. Wonderful lunch! Service was attentive and friendly (even though this restaurant has stopped accepting tips for servers.) We will definitely be back.

Had such a great experience last year on our visit to NYC. Decided to go again after a show on a Sunday night. Only got one seat at the bar so the bartender put us on a list for a table all the while giving us excellent service. I love everything about this restaurant. The service is always exceptional. We ventured here based on referrals from friends and upon my research knew that the Tavern itself did not take reservations vs the Dining Room. So after touring lower Manhattan and before venturing back up to our hotel, stopped in around 6:30 and we were told about an hour wait for 2. So we grabbed a drink at the bar... More

One of America’s most beloved restaurants, Gramercy Tavern has welcomed guests for close to two decades to enjoy seasonal American cuisine, warm hospitality and unparalleled service. The restaurant is perennially ranked at the top of Zagat Survey’s ‘Most Popular’ list, and has garnered eight James Beard Awards including ‘Outstanding Restaurant’ and ‘Best Chef: NYC’. Chef Michael Anthony’s highly seasonal menu consists of elegant dishes with a rustic influence that showcase the restaurant’s relationships with local farms and purveyors. The Main Dining Room serves prix-fixe menus starting at $92 for dinner and an a la carte menu for lunch, and accepts reservations 28 days in advance. The more casual Tavern serves an a la carte menu centered around the wood burning grill, and welcomes guests on a walk-in basis. The restaurant also features an acclaimed wine list, and thoughtfully selected beer and cocktail offerings.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
