My friend and I went to Cafe Viand after concert at Beacon Theatre - arrived approximately 10:35 pm. Host immediately said "We are closing at 11:15 pm" which surprised us both since it was still early. Restaurant was pretty crowded and we saw several people eating who had also attended event at theater. We were having a quick bite so... More

a greeks, and a decent one. just lilke a tissue, something you need sometimes. no more, no less. by, the way, to new yorkers calling a place 'a greeks' is not an insult but they can be hard to tell apart. does one guy print all the menus?

The omelet was good although the sun-dried tomatoes were tough. I got the French toast which was cooked just right. Along with 2 coffees, the bill was nearly $40- I would call that the usual NYC gouging. Service was poor as the wait staff was constantly chatting and ignoring the customers.

Fast service and seating. Had a godfather omelette which was large portion. Tasty sun dried tomato, cheese and prosciutto with rye toast. Good cappuccino with great frothy top.

If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to restaurant for when I want good food that is not outrageously priced. Their breakfast menu is amazing, and the service is wonderful.

I love this place and order lunch from Viand usually daily. They have the best sandwiches and service is usually fast and on time. I think it is a little pricey but then again it is located on the Upper West Side of New York.

If you're looking for a typical NYC diner / cafe, this is a place to go. Traditional American food that will fill you up. Very busy, energetic place. Moderately priced. I had a burger and onion rings, while my girlfriend had a healthier choice: blackened catfish. We both very much enjoyed our meals. It is very busy, however, and I... More

We stayed at the Beacon Hotel and had a wonderful breakfast here. (It is right next door). Great service. They even had wine for a late night snack.

We stayed the Hotel Beacon, right next door. We had a great breakfast one day and take out back to our room another. Large diner style menu with freshly prepared food at a nice pace. The turkey club was delicious - best turkey I've ever had in a sandwich! Pleasant staff and reasonable prices make this place great. It's open... More

We ate here on our way out of NYC after a busy weekend at a convention. By some miracle, we were able to park our work vehicle right outside of the restaurant. I got a veggie burger. It was quite tasty, not the standard frozen Gardenburger fare. It was served on some hearty whole grain toast, with a large topping... More
