Reservation booked by a friend. This restaurant was off my radar. But I was pleasantly surprised! We shared some fri calamity which was both light and crispy and deliciously seasoned with a nice tangy dippy sauce. I had the grilled sea bass which came on...More

Sadly our experience was less than we hoped for. This is the 5th time I have been to Mercer, and by far our server this evening spoiled the entire experience. She had the personality of a cold pancake. My wife and I chose Mercer for...More

Vibrant and fun restaurant with great selection of menu items. Cocktails were great too. It's a bit noisy to have conversation amongst 4 people at table but love the ambience and the decor.

If you can get a table at the ground floor restaurant this is great, bright and light. The big basement is dark and gloomy. Burger is very good but the roast lamb sandwich was boring and tasteless $18. Service is prompt and the manager responded...More

We tried to get into a little French place but couldn't. Found Mercer Kitchen. Yum!!! The intrigue of it being downstairs added to the experience. The poached shrimp salad was amazingly tasteful. My friends each got a pizza that they both enjoyed. The lemonade was...More

Nice fresh lunch spot - good atmosphere in a below ground level seating area. Sidewalk outside is translucent and you can see the pedestrians walking by overhead. Food was fresh and light and nicely done. Omelette with goat cheese was a perfect compliment for my...More

Such a great restaurant. I love that the dining room is downstairs and while you're eating, people are walking above you and you can see them! I've had dinner here and I love the baked olives, gazpacho, mozzarella and peaches, fish and chips, organic chicken...More

I really like their veal milanese, my husband likes heir ribeye. I would probably describe their dinner menu as basic American fare...with a gourmet twist.

Description
Located at the Mercer Hotel, Mercer Kitchen brings a chic, sophisticated vibe to the heart of SoHo. When Mercer Kitchen opened in 1998, it immediately became a destination for New Yorkers, celebrities, and tourists. Situated in the basement of a historic building constructed in the 1800s, the restaurant was designed by Christian Liaigre as a combination of industrial and classic modernism. Chef Jean-Georges' American menu features market-driven, seasonal ingredients prepared in a simple yet elegant style, with favorites like the Tuna Spring Roll, Steamed Shrimp Salad, wood-fired pizzas, and classic Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake. There is an open kitchen, where guests can sit back and watch the show. The perfect restaurant for group dining, special events and celebrations.
