Went here for a quick dinner and was really disappointed with the rolls and food quality. Things were chewy when they shouldn't be... Maybe the more expensive rolls are better but not motivated to go there again.

I go to Mottsu every few months when I'm in the mood for a quick Japanese lunch. Their Bento Box is a good deal (chicken/fish/or Beef with a sushi roll, rice, and sald) and is served pretty promptly. The food is good but not great, but is fairly priced and not a bad place for an occasional lunch.

I've never tried rolls better than here! The first thing you should order here are Dynamite rolls. If you are near this place, you should visit Mottsu at least to try them. And try their tea. Exactly, the tea! Enjoy!

With a very wide variety of delicious food available, from breakfast to late night snack, don't let the apparent Gelato sign fool you. This "cafe" serves top notch full course dinners (using only the best ingredients Little Italy has to offer), to pizza, breakfast, to the aforementioned gelato and other sweets. Fairly priced, comfortable, great service....what else can anyone ask?

This is an excellent Japanese restaurant in Nolito. Not fancy atmosphere, but they get the job done.

Excellent service, fresh made and tasty food. Not fancy, nor expensive, but, for a wide variety, all day long, and into the evening, an excellent experience. With Summer approaching, GELATO becomes a specialty. Enjoy.

Went here with a friend who lives on Mott St - otherwise I definitely would have walked past without a second glance, as the exterior doesn't live up to the food! Great quality sushi at very reasonable prices. Staff were extremely attentive and suggested the two rolls for $11 offer, which had a wide variety of options and was excellent... More

We ate here for dinner late on a Friday night. The food is quite good - really fresh fish. Wait staff was very helpful and the quality was quite good. Waitress made several helpful suggestions as to what to order. This isn't the cheapest restaurant in town but the quality is quite good. We ordered the shrimp tiramisu - really... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
