We sat outside on a lovely spring night and enjoyed both the food (one salmon, one orecchiette) and the passing parade. The service was efficient and friendly.

A classic village institution We were there for both a weekday dinner and a breakfast the next day. We began with an almost unsolvable problem with the key for the air bnb. The owner and staff were more than exceedingly helpful, patient and friendly in helping us resolve the issue. We reurned for dinner and breakfast the next day. The... More

One of my favourite eateries in the village. Lovely food and drink at reasonable prices, the downstairs venue offers all sorts of shows, and the craic is always excellent. Robin has put his heart and soul into this place over many years and its an important reminder of how the village should be, chilled out, relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend.

We ordered the BLT and burger. Both were delicious! For the BLT, the bacon was perfect, bread lightly toasted, not too much mayonnaise- just right. Burger was succulent and juicy. Side salad was fresh. Only thing I didn't like that much was the Bloody Mary. It's untraditional; zingy but not to my liking. Didn't offer the same kick. Food-wise, portions... More

We stopped for Sunday brunch and thought it was really good. The prix fix was a great deal for $25 for an alcoholic beverage, coffee, bread and breakfast entree. They had a nice variety of choices and really good food. Recommend it if your in the area.

Amazing friendly service and nice selection of wines. Food was nice but the portion were too small compared to the price.

This restaurant gets rave reviews, bar is noisy and crowded as a result. We had brunch, about the same ordinary brunch menu in what seems like hundreds of neighboring restaurants. Service was good, but as soon as they cleared our plates, we were rushed out by the hostess coming back to say 'we need your table'. Not a nice end... More

Stumbled into this art gallery / restaurant close to West 4 Street Subway. Atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Easily the best Burger I had in New York. Much better than the Burger Joint for example.

Food is amazing - we booked our hotel to be close this this place. Street seating is brilliant, people watching, staff, as always are so courteous, helpful and cannot do enough. We will be back when we return to NYC

Ok, it was Valentine's evening and we were packed into the basement for the jazz show. Having said that, the service was off, and we kept getting served food that wasn't ours brought to the table. I am chalking it up to staff being a bit overwhelmed. But, I have to say, even through all this, the kitchen prevailed. We... More

Description
In 1987, on its tenth anniversary, New York City proclaimed Cornelia Street Cafe "A CULINARY AS WELL AS A CULTURAL LANDMARK." Founded by three artists, it provides food for the soul as well as the body. Upstairs there are three dining rooms, a beautiful hundred-year-old oak bar, a sidewalk cafe on one of New York's most picturesque streets, and a wood-burning fireplace for the winter. The cafe has received numerous awards for its food: Time Out's TOP 100 RESTAURANTS; the Village Voice's BEST OF NEW YORK FOOD; and a special award from the Village Arts Society for INSPIRED CUISINE. Most recently it received the Waterford Crystal Award of Distinction for BEST BY-THE-GLASS WINE PROGRAM--there are more than thirty wines available by the glass. Downstairs (honored with Zagat Nightlife's Award of Distinction) there are more than 700 performances a year. RESERVATIONS ARE FOR DINING UPSTAIRS. RESERVATIONS FOR THE DOWNSTAIRS CABARET CANNOT BE MADE ONLINE.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
