This place gets five stars for service & ambiance. We were greeted immediately with some crispy bread. All the staff was incredibly friendly and kind. Although, I hate to say it, but the food was just average. I have been spoiled by Indian food, and actually been to India. We ate family style - palak paneer - good! but not... More

Last night we went for diner without reservation and with a stroller. No pb. Great welcome and delicious diner. Congrats to the chef, service and reasonable bill. Will be back soon.

The service is too rushed in this small Indian restaurant. We didn't even finish our drinks, and hadn't asked for the bill, before the waiter placed the bill right in front of us. Two minutes later he came back to check if the credit card had been placed, and said: 'oh, it's not that we want to rush you'. But... More

Had dinner there recently with the family. Great variety of dishes, from curries, dahls, various breads to wonderful vegetarian dishes. Ordered the chicken tikka masala, naan and aloo paratha, along with the flavorful dahl and chana masala. The owner very kindly kept bringing us various dishes to try out. Will definitely go again as we enjoyed the variety and flavors... More

We went there late in the evening (around ten) and we still were treated very nicely. The food was delicious and very cheap, however even though the Naan bread was very delicious, I cannot recommend it as it is very expensive.

Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Very inexpensive plus we got free soup before lunch and rice pudding and tea afterwards. The waiter was very nice too.

There are too many good Indian restaurants in NYC to go to one this poor. Had Saag Ponir - unfortunately the spinach was most likely frozen or canned - NOT fresh. And the cheese was not of a high quality. We ordered 3 different types of bread - but they can out exactly alike. Other dishes equally forgettable. We waited... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
