I adore Mamoun's. Where else in Manhattan (or anywhere else for that matter) can you get a delicious, hot, fast, hearty, healthy, and inexpensive meal? Mamoun's falafel wrap is just $3.50 (I remember when it was only $2.50! For that you get a warm pita stuffed with delectable falafel balls, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, and tahini. Add a drink and... I attended the NYU Law School, located exactly one block north of Mamoun's Falafel on Macdougal Street, graduating in 1974. Then as now, the Law School had absolutely top-level programs in International Law, Taxation, and numerous other fields. I had elected International Law. I hung ... as we say ... with a small group of fellow students, including two graduate... More

In 1975 my friend introduced me to a Baba Ghanoush sandwich here. And now 42 years later, I return for the best hummus, falafel and more. A Gr. Village gem.

This is a tiny little place, lovely people working there! Everything was nice, location, decor and the taste of my tiny falafel sandwich was great! I had to give it a two due to the fact that 12 hours after the sandwich I was still digesting it. It left me with cramps and stomach ache, sadly as the taste was... More

In the UK falafel is dry. As a vegetarian on holiday surrounded by steak houses, this little restaurant was a great stop. The falafel is very tasty and moist and comes with various sauces. There are a lot of great food stops along that street. I recommend doing a food tour.

Several NY-based colleagues told me to stop by at Mamoun's wjo;st on vacation - glad I did! Shawarma and Falafel were amazing and at a very decent price for the portion sizes. Walked up to Washington Square Park to eat for a nice surrounding - but there was place enough inside to eat in a cosy environment.

This formerly great place has gone downhill and is resting on past accolades. We had a falafel-less falafel sandwich. We honestly barely had a falafel to taste. I will not return. We got something with a smattering of a falafel, filled with shredded lettuce. That's it. Nothing else. Come on everybody, it's not about how cheap something is, it's about... More
