Looking for something a little different then this is the place. Interesting menu (that might not be for everyone). Traditional comfort food, it's not. We had the goat's neck and it was fantastic (it looks bigger on the plate than it actually is, but it easily serves two normal eaters). I've never had goat that almost melts in your mouth.... More

I have worked at Nyc for 3 years, and the Duck is my favorite restaurant. The food is really good, the sea food really fresh, the meat just perfect. Bloody Mary and Brunch are fantastic. Southern kitchen as we like, slow cooking, many herbs, very tasty! Crowded everyday, come early, no reservation. The goat neck is really good but share... More

This is another small and lively eatery which is tightly packed with tables but unfortunately offers a small range of food most of which is quite 'different'. Our group was not fussy but just could really find much that interested in. On deciding on a smoked chestnut soup which looked nice but was awful. The flavour just wasnt there and... More

This place is a scene. It is jammed but fun. Do not wear your tie or good clothes. If you don't spill something you fellow diners might. I love the curried goat neck but there is plenty other to choose from. The menu is unique and if the adventurous you are likely to hit pay dirt here. Both the drink... More

First time I'd been there. I went with 3 family members. We had the "Benton’s Bacon Benedict that included english muffin, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce, maple, sweet potatoes and home fries". My god this was delicious! I grew up in Amish Country where the bacon is superb. This bacon (Benton's) was ridiculousl. Thick and smokey. They're not fooling around with... More

Nice place to eat and drink. They offer some special food which you don't often see in other places. Oyster happy hour is a plus too.

I am always looking for new places to try in my neighborhood in NYC and when Duck's Eatery came up on my Google search I knew I had to try it out. Duck Waffles? And Ribs? Interesting cocktails? What a great combination for a fun night out! So I convinced my skeptical husband to tag along to try it out.... More

Loved everything....and we ordered EVERYTHING!!! Enjoyed the ribs, chicken wings, pig ears, goats neck, cornbread....the list goes on! Outstanding service (thanks Roland) and a very interesting conversation with co-owner "Julie!" She was as incredible as the restaurant! We sat at the bar- placed was packed! Check it out! You can view it on food network's Diners, Drive Ins & Dives!

Thursday night in the East Village on a great summer evening is always memorable. I was early for my first time at Ducks Eatery on East 12th St. and very excited to taste Will Horowitz’s well-received food and creative cocktail menu. I took out my new e-reader and sat at one of their cozy outside tables, ordered a Duck Buck... More

This tiny little place has an eclectic range of items ranging from chicken wings to smoked whole goat neck. The wings were exceptional, as were the celery root, red beans 'n rice and beignets. The staff was friendly and attentive. They managed to get us out the door in time to get to a play, without making us feel rushed.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
