This is one of our New York City favorites. We were lucky to get in at the last minute on Sunday night. The bruschetta was divine, crusty, cheesy deliciousness. The gnocchi was great comfort on a blustery night.

I visited this Restaraunt the other night and will never go back! The food was ok but the service was awful. There was a ride bartender who also served as the waiter. He was rude and curt and had an attitude from the time we sat down to eat. I had heard this from a few friends who had eaten... More

Dear Madam, My husband was trying to control a situation in which the woman was reacting in a strange and abusive manner. She was screaming at our bartender, threatening his life, and generally behaving irrationally. I can understand how this must have been very upsetting to you. I know it is for me! In the six years we have been... More

My husband and I have been planning to try Heidi's House for the past couple of years but every time we stop by to check table availability, there's always a long wait. This time around, we called ahead and, in half an hour, we received a call that our table was ready. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were... More

So sorry to hear you were so disappointed! We always want to hear reviews, especially if you were not happy. And we aim to please. The men in the kitchen are amazing, but they do make mistakes now and then. Also, if the portion was too small, that would irritate me too! How can we make it up to you?... More

Okay, we were not in France this time, but better than Italy and Germany. And the food there was pretty darn good. I am late to the party for this place; we live down the street and somehow I never made it. It's always packed; it's about the size of my father's Buick. It's wonderfully friendly, and it's one of... We really enjoyed our dinner at Heidi's House. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Everything we ordered was very tasty and cooked with great care. I loved the maccaroni cheese with porcini mushroom and truffle oil (definitely the best maccaroni cheese I had during my stay in NYC). Great selection of wine and beers. Go there!

Heidi's House is a charming, tiny respite from the mean streets of New York. My husband and I had dinner here and it was absolutely delicious. They even have specials that start around 5:30PM. $2 off wines and drinks and amazing "small plates." We enjoyed the fish tacos-delicious, mac & cheese-delicious, olives-delicious, crab dish-delicious AND both their desserts....chocolate souffle and... More

The place is small, dark and so cozy! There are only few tables and seats at the bar. The food is so tasty but a little bit overpriced. We took gnocchi, artichoke salad, mini tuna tartar and two glasses of wine and we paid 80$ (with 10$ tip). From 5 till 6 pm there is happy hour and there are... More

Limited menu means each dish is well thought out, delish and appealing. Wine and beer selection is great. Had a special artichoke salad and of course mac and cheese. Both super flavorful and well portioned for sharing. Thanks Freddie for a great experience. Feels like your at your friend's house for dinner. Best to call ahead - and see if... More

I recently dined at Heidi's House with my spouse and found that the food was indeed excellent. We had the Mac n' Cheese with lobster and the Hamburger. The wait service [Tommy the server did a fine job, was attentive to our table and delivered our food immediately after it came out of the kitchen] was perfect. Arguably, since there... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
