The highline was extended recently and we decided to visit. It was a beautiful day and like the original section provided a relaxing walk above the city streets filled with beautiful landscaping and artwork. All in all another masterpiece of NYC with which to take...More

The building is empty and looks to me like is going to be knocked down. We came from east side so just trying to avoid someone else coming for no reason

A little piece of heaven in a busy city. Some great views of the city with plenty of shaded areas and seating along the way.

The railroad went to the meat packing industry, was a place that was derelict, now a place with plants and trees and benches and neighbors meeting and visiting and for tourist to review and awe. It is interesting to walk Highliner and look to either...More

If you want to sit outside and enjoy the wonderful West Chelsea scene, this is your place. It's not the old Empire Diner :( I knew for so many years. The new menu is more upscale, so don't expect a 1980's experience of simple burger...More

Nothing fancy here, just generous portions of home-cooked food. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but the tables were clean and the food good. We sat in what I would call a party room, there being seven in our party. The single rest...More

Nice place, good food, cheap prices. Great sandwiches. Vegan options. If you are visiting the Highline, when hungry, don't miss this place.

This used to be the famous Empire Diner which closed, but has been reopened as the Highliner. Lots of gleaming chrome outside, retro vibe and reasonable menu inside. Friendly staff, we came here for breakfast and enjoyed it. Open from 8am.

Stopped by for brunch here with friends on our last trip to NYC. It's a charming, cute diner that looks like an old train car. Menu is simple, but everything looked good. Typical diner food (slightly more upscale though). Ordered the Highliner wrap (which to...More

New Yorkers may not appreciate this but we are Englanders on tour and we loved it. The carriage the kitchen the al fresco all delightful. We ate all of the american diner favourites including thick milkshakes and pancakes, great.

Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful
brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most
popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s
jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The
contemporary art scene is an integral part of the
neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost
every night of the week and countless exhibits to
explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York
