My wife and I went there for dinner after doing a Metropolitan Museum of art tour on a Friday evening. The restaurant is small and cozy. However that atmosphere and ambience very quaint. The food is excellent. We ordered many small plates including the prosciutto, the goat cheese plate, the salted cod, the Brussels sprouts, steak tartare. All were very... More

Tiny tables, good service, cosy place and absolutely very chic and bobo. I did not make a good choice and my waffle was served with maple sirop and bacon and I don't like to mix salty and sweet but since the atmosphere was very good I did not want to change it... They have a short menu and nice options...... More

In one of the coldest nights of February, we were looking for a comfort cozy place to have coffee and a cake. We were so lucky to be bumped in this magical place. From the menu to the staff following the decoration of the place, you feel you are in heart of Paris. Don't miss the Tarte Tain. It was... More

Excellent breakfast location with a small but very attractive selection of breakfast dishes Interior is European/French like, f&b very good, service extremely attentive considering the amount of people in this rather small restaurant. Weekend breakfast: make sure you book a table in advance

This small place is hard to get a spot at the weekend so get in mid week. Brunch is great, scrambled eggs are their speciality. I had eggs with black truffle on but it must have been a cheap truffle as it didn't taste of truffle and for $16 I got a lot of truffle which should raise questions about... More

We were greeted at the front of the restaurant by a hostess and given a buzzer for the brief wait. There was a very short wait before we had a table available. After our brief wait, we were seated by a hostess and told our server would be right there. Once we got to our table we were immediately attended... More

I recently had breakfast here and it was worth the trip to the Village! The service was excellent, the menu was creative and and atmosphere was lovely (albeit a little cramped). The best coffee and breakfast I had all week! This restaurant is very busy but we walked in and only had to wait a few minutes for seating at... More

I had high hopes, but I'm really disappointed in Buvette. We were given an hour wait time, but ended up being closer to an hour and a half. After being seated, it took 30 minutes and 45 minutes, respectively, to get our drinks and food. We witnessed several tables seated after us, while our waitress served them drinks shortly after... The place is never empty. Have to wait for 2 hours since we did not make any reservations before hand. Nonetheless, it was worth the wait. Waitress service was exceptional. The food portion is smaller compared to other American restaurants but still, Buvette doesn't compromise on the quality. All dishes were perfectly blended to complement each other. Have had the... Great place in the West Village for brunch. It has all of the charm (and delicious food) of a great French cafe hidden in the streets of New York. The food is great and atmosphere fantastic. Tip : The restaurant is small and you can't reserve a table (so if you go on the weekend you will have to wait... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
