This pub is connected to the lobby of the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel. Its great for brunch and lunch but turns into a noisy bar scene after work making enjoying a meal impossible.

We were walking back from our trip around the city and called in by chance. The meal we had was lovely. It was in an ideal place so called there later in the week. Service great and good value

Nice pub, good ambiance, good level guests. Several beers on tap, good IPAs, good place to have a beer and a conversation.

Great spot on 44th East. We needed a late night snack and this was next door to our hotel. We had sliders (which were very good) and wings. The wings were seasoned with a dry rub and cooked perfectly. Service was great as well.

Staying in the hotel, when we go b&b we always enjoy the breakfast here. There's a good choice of full irish, continental or porridge. Restaurant is decent too, good for burgers and sandwiches. Bar is lovely in the evenings, seems popular with the after work...More

We had a few beers here during our stay in the hotel. Very busy on the Friday night, but seemed to empty fast. It was fine on the other nights though. There's a barman, I think his name is "Octo", who is second to none,...More

This bar was attached to our hotel so a great convenient place for a drink or breakfast or an evening meal. Varied menu and drinks. Has an outside seating area too

We enjoyed drinks in this Irish bar in our hotel - the Fitzpatrick Grand Central. We also had lunch and a late dinner one evening - good pub food. Lovely patio area too.

Description
The Wheeltapper celebrates the best of a traditional Irish pub, offering contemporary food and drink in an informal atmosphere. Together with the year-round outdoor Patio, this restaurant and bar is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, dinner, or cocktails.

As fitting for a pub so close to Grand Central Terminal, the Wheeltapper's design includes authentic railroad artifacts and memorabilia from the turn of the century. Cozy and warm, the Wheeltapper's two bars, front and back, are comprised of quaint nooks for semi-private dining or drinking, and connected by the Carriage, a passage that closely resembles a classic railroad dining car. A fireplace warms up the back bar in cold weather.

A door takes you from the back bar out to the Patio, a 2,200 square foot outdoor garden wit seating for 48 people and plenty of room to stand and mingle. This unique space is covered with a retractable awning and heated in winter, allowing it to stay open year-round.
