You walk in to the festering and there is a ton of reconstruction. Our table was in the corner and it was tight, no room to move around. The first course, cheese, was very good and the bread was good. The second course, meat, we got to choose from 4 options and I chose the fillet mignon. Our waiter said... More

Fondue used to be the bomb, but now it is considered a little passe. I guess gorging yourself on cheese is no longer the in thing to do. Anyhow, this place was wonderful from the time we stepped in until we exited, trying to find our way home in the rain. I would advise coming here with at least four... More

While on a family vacation in NYC, we decided a fondue dinner at Taureau would be fun. And it was. Taureau is a small, dimly lit place, and wasn't too crowded. (We were there on a weeknight.) The table was comfortable and had two burners, which turned out to be key, because it allowed us to have two pots going,... More

Went for a pre-Valentine's date night on a Friday night. My gf had never had a full-course fondue dinner before, so she was excited to give this a try. We ordered the $52 prix fixe dinner and a bottle of red wine. For the first course, we went with the traditional gruyere. It was really tasty, but only came with... More

Get a reservation - this place is tiny. We ended up doing the three course instead of the two, and started with cheese fondue (you get to pick between a series of mixes, but we went with the classic Cheddar and Monterey Jack) with croutons and salad to dip. Then we picked two kinds of meat (we went with filet... More

Small place, small tables but no too close to your fellow guests. Amazing fondue. We had the classic old Swiss cheese fondue and filet mignon cooked in canola oil. Couldn't have been better. Also had milk chocolate fondue for dessert, delicious!! Will go again!

This is one of New York's less known gems. The fondue here is the best I have found in the city so far, so much so that I come here from the upper east side when I feel like having fondue. The meal works as follows: salad, followed by a cheese fondue (go for the Perigord with the truffle Amazing!),... More

Food was great but the service was fantastic. Got a plate and didn't like it, the manager brought us 3 different fondu plates to make up for it plus one to go. Amazing experience.

We went to Taureau and we had a lovely and delicious dinner! Great and friendly service, and the food was awesome! We ordered the cheese and truffle fondue and it was great. Romantic place, for couples is great!

We've been coming to Taureau 1-2x per year for the last 5 years. Very consistent, reliable, and good. Tonight, we were served flank steak that could not be chewed. We told the waitress, she said she's been here since September and this is the way it's been since then. Well, that's great, but that's not how it's been all the... More
