Stopped into this German beer hall after walking the high line. They serve German beers (imagine that) & have a full bar. You buy tickets in advance for beer & food. Pay as you go at the bar. There is some German food available. We...More

We went there on a Sunday afternoon and it was just a load of fun. You drink beer out of glasses shaped like a boot, and if you feel like playing table tennis there are tables set up, but you need to be quick to...More

Best bar that I visited in my tour to New York City. It's inside the Standard hotel. They serve 4 types of house beers (for which you need to pay first) and extensive choices for spirits. Playing TT after few drinks is fun. Must visit...More

Fun place with good german beer and food. Had the bratwurst . Taste just like I remember from German beer halls. Beer is $9 for a half litter.

The Standard Biergarten was just that- pretty standard. Average selection of beers. Limited food choices. But overall, I had a good time.

It's just beer and very few choices of food. All of which are fairly decent. Obviously with NYC prices.

It's a fun place with a lot of character. They didn't have a ton of taps but there was a good selection of less common brews.

This place is fun but more suitable for younger people (early 20's). Good selections of beers and relaxed vibe

Pseudo-Germanic affair. You buy tokens and then can exchange for beer or food. Beer served in a glass boot was a bit naff. But the beer was good if a tad overpriced.

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

Sorry, I am not sure. I was there in the evening and did not notice children. If they should balk at letting children in - there are other places nearby, like "Sugar Factory" (they'll like the name of that :) and Hector's... More

A neighborhood staple, The Standard Grill is classic New York meets new American cuisine. The front cafe, bar and street-side bistro is clean and bright with white oak and tile decor and features fresh oysters, speciality cocktails and charcuterie. The main dining room is cozy, old-world with red leather banquets, barrel vaulted ceilings, and a floor paved in copper pennies. Michelin-starred chef, Dan Silverman, utilizes the freshest local ingredients, blending traditional steak house with new American grill sensibilities.
