Ate here for dinner because Craft L.A. is one of our favorites. For all of the same reasons, Craft is also now our favorite. Beautiful decor, not too loud even when full, friendly, attentive, unpretentious service (uncommon in a high-end restaurant), OUTSTANDING food (with an emphasis on quality ingredients prepared simply but deliciously). Expensive but worth every penny. Portions are... More

First off I love the decor in this restaurant! We decided to go to Craft for lunch while in NYC because it was a great value for lunch. The food did not disappoint! The steak tartar and the arrancini were fabulous! For entrees we enjoyed the steak with chimichurri sauce, but the pasta with a short rib bolognesse was to... More

We had a great experience which started with one of the best gin drinks we have had in a long time, Kermit the Grog, short wait in the bar for our table and then a waitress who was very attentive, we ordered the beet sallad(great) and the beef tartar, also very good. Our main meal was the dinner for 2... More

I expected more from this restaurant, considering the relationship with Tom Colicchio. My cousin and I thought the sides were amazing, but the entrees were more pedestrian than expected and the server was pretentious, which was a big turn off. For such a pricey meal, we yearned for more. I will check out another NYC option next time and take... More

I was in New York for two nights on a birthday girls weekend. We had only one night to pick a great place to eat that had a good vibe and great food. We chose Craft for many reasons. When we arrived, we were very happy with the ambiance and decor. The Wine Manager was so kind and very helpful... More

My wife and I dined here for our anniversary dinner and found the menu selection, presentation and taste of our selections and personalized attention all superlative. We ran late and had to adjust due to winter weather, but the hostess accommodated without hesitation. Our menu was personalized at the top with our names and the staff were all aware of... More

I went during Restaurant Week and was impressed by the care they took with menu choices and preparation. Everything was presented at the highest level, and was creative and absolutely delicious. Flavors were distinct and fresh. Service is impeccable and the room itself is comfortable with beautiful lines in the dark wood furnishings and artistic use of large paintings and... More

We celebrated a milestone birthday with family. The staff was very attentive going so far as to customize the birthday boy's menu! The octopus was very good as was the orecchiette with pork sausage; the duck entrée was excellent as were the short ribs. The mushroom side was a little salty though the potatoes aligot and gnocchi were delicious. The... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
