If you have never heard of Tom Colicchio, I think you can find him on a TV show called Top Chef. He apparently has several restaurants throughout the city, and in the almost obligatory cities of Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Miami Beach. Craft is his flagship restaurant in NYC and deserves the title. The staff are very attentive, with... More

Found this just by searching on Open Table. Had no sense if it were good or bad. Took the risk and going back. Food is mouthwatering and savory. Staff is on point attentive. I'll be back and take others to enjoy this culinary delight!

We just finished a lovely dinner at Craft, our first visit. It was an outstanding experience. The menu is interesting, somewhat deconstructed, which allows a party to share many dishes comfortably. The 3 persons in our party shared Raw Oysters, Smoked Hamachi and a Citrus Crudo for starters. For entrees we shared perfectly poached Sturgeon, Monkfish wrapped in Bacon, and... More

I booked Craft for Valentine's dinner for my wife and me while on a business trip to NY. Not perhaps as romantic as she would have wished for as we had 3 of our team travelling with us. But hey; I got to have dinner with 4 lovely women and I think that the Craft staff were pretty happy to... More

We had an excellent dinner at Craft on Sunday night. The service was friendly and attentive and the meal was perfect. We ordered a nice bottle of wine and really enjoyed our meal. After our poor experience at Butter this was certainly the dinner we were looking for. We are looking forward to heading back to Craft in the next... More

Craft is the perfect dining spot in NYC if you want an excellent balance of atmosphere, service and food--all were tops in my book. The décor is lovely -elegant yet understated with tables equally spread out so as to not be sitting on top of your fellow diners. The service was superb--welcoming, friendly, helpful- professional--exactly what I hope for!. ED... More

My 3d time at the place - interesting, well prepared food and wonderful decor. Very cool. The food does not in my view match the best in NYC ( Gotham Bar and Grill, La Bernardine etc) but comes close. The service was good and they have some nice cocktails. This is a great place for a date and works very... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Craft. The restaurant has a casual upscale atmosphere. The lighting is dimmed but not to the point of difficulty reading the menu. The staff is friendly and attentive but not overbearing. It was easy to carry on a conversation across the table without speaking over the conversation at the next table. The wine... More

We booked a table here due to pretty good ratings but were disappointed. The food was really old fashioned, overcooked vegetables and too rich sauces and bland food. Expensive too .....The restaurant was full, but with older people and parents taking out adult children for a meal. Not a restaurant for the 21st century.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
