It is a good place to taste a good breakfast in a cold day... many options with eggs... coffee and other things!! I recomeded it (es una excelente opcion para un dia frio, con huevos revueltos, buen cafe y otras cosas deliciosas.. lo recomiendo!)

Regarding NY Luncheonette being open on Christmas Day, I have to admit I'm not sure. However, give them a call at (212) 838 0165 and get a quick answer. Sorry I wasn't very helpful.
