Busy diner. Stopped in here for quick meal after a busy day. It worked for that purpose. I would return again under the same circumstances; otherwise, I would take the time to find a more comfortable seating environment. Our waitress and table bussers were very responsive.

So I saw lots of other people give this place a better review than me...so I'll be decent here...not slam it too much just over one sandwich. But I love simple diners...and all I wanted was a roast beef club. Did not like it. Roast beef was too dry, no flavor. Also I over heard two senior citizens talking to... More

If on 44th in the morning stop by The Red Flame Restaurant for a Lumberjack breakfast, but don't leave without your strawberry cheesecake. You'll thank me later.

Large dining room just blocks from Times Square. Fast, friendly, efficient wait staff. Fantastic pancakes and delicious OJ. Good sandwiches and large fresh salads make this more than a breakfast destination (hence perfect for brunch). Reasonably priced too (including tip, $80 for 4 adults) Ps. Slight chuckle seeing "meat combination $3.00" listed under Vegetarian Omelettes.

Luckily for us, this gem was a just down the road from our hotel. We first noticed that it seemed very popular, so first decided to have breakfast there. Though crowded we were quickly found a table and served breakfast which was very good and reasonably priced for central Manhattan. After that we had several different meals and enjoyed all... More

It doesn't aspire to be anything other than what it is, a classic American (Greek) diner. The menu is all encompassing. I've eaten there several times and the food is good and comforting. The tastes are not transcendent: it's a diner, and it does that very well. Service is good, price is reasonable for NYC.

Searched for traditional diner and found it. Transports you back to 1970s which is nice as city no overrun with big chains. This diners run by a lovely greek couple. Usual diner menu. Big portions and used by locals.

Very average for the location, near times square and bryant park. Priced the same as others, still very expensive, food was good but not spectacular. They did get my wifes order wrong, however rectified it quickly when we mentioned it.

Unable to sleep after a long flight and the time difference, my wife and myself visited Flame at 4am for breakfast. It was good and really cheap. After managing to sleep I returned at 9am for a second breakfast. I couldn't believe difference from being virtually the only customers, the place was packed out and staff all wore uniforms. Not... We had Very good service. The food was Great. It was right by our hotel and every time we passed it was packed. We knew it must be amazing because all the locals were here. We will definitely be back..

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
