We dropped in to this place mid-Sunday afternoon for a break on a bike ride up/down the west side. We sat at an open table and were greeted nicely. We ordered immediately and noted we were in a hurry, kindly the server noted he had just placed several other orders but would do his best. We enjoyed the atmosphere of... More

We visited NYC and this restaurant in January. When we first walked in for lunch, we immediately turned and walked back out because it was just so small! However, we tried again the next day knowing what we were walking into and were so pleasantly surprised at the experience. The decor is very unique, eclectic and rustic, and the food... More

I first visited this bar in 2009. I was so pleasantly surprised then and again when I re visited recently. Great atmosphere, friendly greeting and good cocktails. I love that is identifiable only by the street number. Will be back one day

Smith and Mills is a tiny restaurant and bar in Tribeca. It seats about 25 (more if the weather is nice and the outside tables are out). It has a wonderfully quaint aesthetic with weathered maps and old machinery covering the walls. It feels like it could be on a boat, or in the Hobbit. The drinks are well made.... More

Interesting atmosphere. Former private stable. The cocktails were great. We also had the cheese and chacturie plate. It was very good with high end cheese and meat. Service was friendly and very good. Normal New York prices. Worth a visit.

this is still one of our favourite little gems, we have to come whenever we are in New York. The inside is tiny but quirky. Staff are great. The food is excellent and cannot believe the tiny space used to prepare it. We will come back again and again. Great location for pre-dinner drinks in Tribeca.

I ordered the poached chicken club sandwich for lunch as recommended by the waiter and really enjoyed it. It came on a crispy baguette with tender chicken and a huge side of delicious house made chips. I would definitely order it again, but would also like to try their other menu items. The poached chicken salad that my friend ordered... More

I ordered fish and chips while taking a break during a business meeting. There were several in our party. However, my fish and chips were soggy and the batter seemed undercooked. Other in my party enjoyed their meals. I'd probably give Smith and Mills another chance...but I won't be ordering fish and chips again!

Sweet spot for a drink. Industrial feel, small , hip & friendly servers...very TriBeCa . You'll like it. No sign out front makes it more intriguing.

This was one of my favorite bars in New York, I live here and when anyone visits this was a go to spot. One of the most unique bars here and I've been a lot. But, I went again last night for the first time in about a year and I was really upset to see them make my cocktail... More

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
