Really guys, the title should tell you all.... the spaghetti, the olive oil cake (who even thought of that), Brussel sprouts - it was ll to die for. The service was impeccable, the portions generous the vibe infectious and the food delicious - really what else do you need?

Nice restaurant, not too big. Went a monday night and it was crowded. Better to reserve however we showed up early without reservation and had a place to eat at the bar. It was nice, the staff was friendly. For the food, you have to try the mushroom. Yummy. I also had the spaghetti with garlic and crispy bits of... More

The food is amazing and the service is quick and really good. We had a mixture of starters: scallops and different pastors finishing off with the hanger steak. Highly recommendable but make sure to have a reservation Or come really early or there will be no available tables

This restaurant was recommended to us by a couple we met on a food tour in Italy who were going to L'Osteria Francescana (the highest rated restaurant in the world) that evening. They said they went to L'Artusi once a month. Given they appeared to know food, we were expecting it to be the food highlight of our trip. Sadly... More

I'm a little perplexed as to why so many people rave about this place. The food isn't bad, but it's not amazing by any stretch and certainly not at the prices they are charging. I enjoyed my starter which was orecchiette and my main was also nice (roasted pork chop) although I'm convinced it was cooked too pink as I... More

Had a lovely dinner here with a friend. The atmosphere is elegant, if a bit noisy, and the service was outstanding. We shared several plates: delicious kale salad, orecchiette with sausage, Arctic char, Brussel sprouts, cumin carrots. Everything was delicious.

Hands down the best meal experience in NYC. I cannot say enough great things, the food is consistently delicious and even the service is even better. Every staff member is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and genuinely cares about your experience. The wine selection is extensive. The atmosphere is great for a date, celebration or a simple dinner. YOU MUST... More

Those who read my reviews know that I never write about bad experiences, and only write about the restaurants to which I would proudly send my friends and family. L’Artusi, like the other restaurants I have reviewed, is in this select group. But L’Artusi also is in that special subset of favorites among my favorites. Having dined at L’Artusi several... More

What a wonderful place! Small by most standards but the food is amazing. Had the cheese platter with the best ricotta we have ever eaten. Branzino for me and octopus for my husband. We were sharing and loving each bite. The garganelli with mushrooms was something I am going to learn to make, we shared a bowl and wanted more!... More

One of the best modern Italian restaurants in NYC. Waiter made an awesome wine recommendation when asked for something in the $100 to $125 range. The Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco and Gnocchi were particular standouts. We had several course including dessert and our bill came in around $350 for two. Certainly not cheap, but a reasonable value in light of the... More

Opened in December of 2008, L'Artusi is the second step from the team that brought dell'anima to the West Village.

Chef/Partner Gabriel Thompson and Beverage Director/Partner Joe Campanale share their expertise in Italian Epicurean Hospitality on a larger stage. Featuring rustic cuisine, a crudo bar, specialty cheese program, private dining room, and a walk-in wine cellar, L’Artusi offers guests a variety of dining options and a warm, friendly vibe.

Our 110 seat restaurant, designed by Brooke Maples, features two floors of comfortable banquette seating, extended traditional bar, cheese bar and a chef's counter over-looking the open kitchen. Private dining opportunities are also available in our 2500 bottle walk-in wine cellar.

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
