Conveniently located in downtown i went with friends not being sure if a lobster place in a touristic area is a good option. We were seated after waiting for 1 hour. Waitress took the order and 10 minutes later came apologising that they ran out of lobsters. Had only 1 tail left, which we shared and left. Pros: good quality... More

We were heading to a Broadway show and, since it was raining, we wanted to eat close to the theater and tried city Lobster and Steakhouse. As far as we were concerned, it turned out to be a place no true New Yorker would eat. Even though we told the server we had a showtime, he was new and did... More

I was hoping to come here for happy hour cocktails and small bites by the bar... sadly, the place has been devoid of furniture and the tanks are drained without any seafood. Another sad chapter in NYC's culinary scene.

After a full day on foot and touring the city on the hop on hop off bus, we were heading back to our hotel and in need of an icy cold beverage and a little nibble. Stumbled upon this place which was offering some specials at the bar. We ordered five bowls of new England clam chowder. It was delicious... More

We arrived without reservations at City Lobster and Steakhouse, and were taken in hand quickly. We had a big table for two, and our waiter was amazing! I wish I remembered his name to share, because he was so helpful and friendly - over and above what is expected, for sure! An older couple sitting close to us had trouble... More

We spent a lot of money in this restaurant, and were extremely disappointed. The shrimp was tasteless, the bread was stale. My daughter took one bite of her soup, and couldn't finish it. When a patron leaves something practically untouched, you would think that the waiter or manager would ask why.

Great dinner. Prefixe menu with many choices. White tablecloth but not pretentious. Friendly. Decent wine list. Reasonable prices (for midtown NYC). Food was tasty; service helpful and efficient. One of the better experiences I've had dining in Manhattan

I thoroughly enjoyed dinner here as did everyone in my party. We dined on linguini and clams, cioppino, Chilean sea bass. The standout for me was the iceberg wedge salad. Excellent toppings and stellar blue cheese dressing made this the best salad I've had in a long time.

Our meal was truly amazing, with terrific cocktails (our bartender Nik was good at the classics as well as drinks with a creative twist), great appetizers (everything people say about the crab cakes is true), and the best tasting, most perfectly cooked lobster we've ever had. The most surprising thing about this restaurant was the fact that it wasn't packed.... More

It's is my second visit to this Midtown Manhattan restaurant. Discovered it on my last vacation. Love this place. Went this visit as a solo and felt so welcomed by Saith, the hostess. She lead me to a great window table. My waiter, Alex was fantastic. His pace was perfect. I didn't feel rushed or ignored. I ordered the 2... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
