Almost perfectly authentic ... good food ... great service ... friendly owner bouncing from table to table ... lots of regulars (not a tourist trap) ... go there ...

Best lobster dinner in NYC. Thursday night features lobster, entirely opened, butter on the side and no need for clamps or bibs. We had our choice of sides. Chèvre salad with beets and arugula and caprese excellent as starters. Wine list reasonable and service outstanding.

Great food, staff, ambiance; consistently strong in all fronts - and FUN! This is an UES staple, serving locals and visitors from far away with the same friendly service and excellent cuisine.

We were seated quickly on arrival. We liked the ambiance, lively yet intimate and easy to hold a conversation. The service was good. The appetizers we had, the crab cake and pate, were excellent. However, I wish I could say the same for the entrees. The “special of the day” shrimp provencal looked nice and the ratatouille was fine although... More

Very authentic looking small French bistro near Central Park. From the moment you step inside you feel like you are in a small neighborhood bistro on the Left Bank. It was very popular and lively the night we were here. Fun! Our waitress was charming and offered suggestions with a smile. I had the delicious calamari, fried without being greasy.... More

I enjoyed the Angus burger and the fries. The creme brûlée was excellent and the coffee great. The service was very good. I shall return.

A really top-notch French Brasserie, featuring all the well-known classics, and all done superbly. Don't miss the "plats du jour", especially Monday (rack of lamb) and Friday (bouillabaisse)! And. whether at home or in a hotel, check out the delivery option, which features the ability to pre-order and choose the exact time of arrival. Also great for a drink mid-afternoon... More

As the title says, the restaurant has a lovely French bistro feel. We had a nice lunch there and enjoyed it very much despite somewhat slow service (it was the weekend, and we were somewhat early). Delicious onion soup, roasted chicken. Not gourmet - just comforting and good.

My teen-aged daughter and I went here after a long flight. From the elegant and engaging hostess, to the warm decor of a typical French brasserie, we felt welcomed. As it is restaurant week in NYC (until Feb. 10), I had pate accompanied by cornichons, mustard and toasted baguette, trout with meuniere sauce and a dessert of creme brulee for... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
