This lovely wine bar is a New York Magazine Critics Pick and still a delight. They are on 44th and 9th Avenue and they offer up a great selection of Italian food with a slight twist of their own. On our most recent visit it was a balmy evening so the doors were all open to the street. My wife... More

We needed a restaurant close to the Westside Theatre and my daughter recommended Gallo Nero. It was a great choice, one block from the theatre with a great menu. I couldn't decide between the spaghetti carbonara or the pork scallopine piccata and asked if we could get a half portion of the pasta as an appetizer. The waiter asked someone... More

Visiting the city for a long weekend and glad we tried Gallo Nero Wine Bar for dinner one evening. We were warmly greeted and the service was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed trying several nice wines and our food was delicious. My husband's blue snapper was perfectly cooked and my eggplant pasta with various vegetables was a fine dish. We... More

Really good food! Braised lamb shank and hanger steak are my favorite. Nice drink selection too. I've been here a handful of times now. Wonderful staff; particularly the host, love this spot!

We had the pleasure to dine in this gem of a restaurant! The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant and he led us to a place where all five of our group were extremely pleased. I had the gnocchi" soft light and very good. The others had lobster ravioli, spinach ravioli, clams with white sauce And a chicken dish... More

Martinis and wine 🍷 extremely average and bland fare . Service is good but very cramped and crowded . Gnocchi was not as well received as I had imagined . Ragu with kraft Parmesan has better flavor . The sea scallops on frisse was tasty and nicely seared . Cocktails and wine were ok ....Tequila selection is minimal but I... More

We dined there Dec 27. A couple of blocks from the chaos and mad mass of people that is times square, we found this little piece of wonderful tranquility that served amazing food and treated you like you were the only customer in the house. I had the Caesar appetizer and Spaghetti and meatballs, which apparently is not on the... More

Authentic Italian, nice atmosphere. Restaurant is small, but even with a stroller they managed to seat us. Food was ok, wine list was ok+, service was excellent.

I would not say the wine bar was excellent because the selection is very limited, the bar very small and uncomfortable stools, but the burrata cheese is huge and serious delicious, the outside is thin curd buffalo mozzarella, while the inside oozes with buttery creamy pana that lingers in your palate, food is ok also, the oso bucco was good... Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
