We decided to stop in at this whimsical looking place and found it to be actually quite delicious with wonderful coffees and teas as well as killer blueberry lemon scones. I had the eggs florentine with scones. It was really delicious. The staff was very friendly and the decor was adorable.

Certainly, I had high expectations for Alice's Tea Cup. What could be more magical? What could be more light and airy? What could be more fun than re-creating a Mad Hatter Tea Party? Apparently, anything could be more magical, light & airy and fun than Alice's TeaCup Chapter III which is a rather dark and dingy space. At least paint... More

Our last day in New York, walked 1.5 hours to get to Alice's Tea Cup, arrived at 12.35 to find a note on the door saying 'Last seating at 1pm' as closing for a private event however when we entered we were told that actually they were closing even earlier due to not having enough chefs on. Fantastic. Don't bother!!

There were so many tea and scone selections, I was in "wonder" land; I wonder what I should have. We decided on the large pot of tea and had the Trafalgar Square blend, peppermint, and two scones with preserves and clotted cream for $17. We tried the blueberry scone, our favorite, and the pumpkin. Everything was lovely; great service, quiet... More

A tiny place and a bit of a wait, but well worth it. My daughter and I went here after the Met and had a lovely time. We each had a clice of cake and picked a pot of tea off the huge teat menu. I liked my Alice's special and my daughter got the faerie potion. Wonderful! Very cute... More

Whilst in New York we wanted to meet up with a friend’s daughter who we hand’t seen for a long time. We had known the family since the children were very young so we were excited to have the opportunity to catch up. The New York subway wasn’t playing ball that cold January day, so through an exchange of texts... More

We had the Mad Hatter's high tea with scones, sandwiches and sweet treats. This was more than enough for the two of us. The decoration and use of tea pots and tier plate holders added to the experience. There is a large menu of teas including floral varieties and some for children too! The best of the selection was the... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
