My wife and I got hungry after a morning of strolling through Central Park, shopping and checking out Rockefeller Center. My wife and I both got the made to order salads and they were very good. There is a crazy selection of different lettuce/spinach and toppings - seriously, pretty much anything that you can think of (different meat, vegetables, cheeses,... More

We stayed in midtown west and were looking for a quick breakfast that was not a Starbucks experience, nor a sit-down experience. Our concierge recommended Cafe Metro (several throughout the city) and we got just what we were looking for. Order and pay at the counter, prepared fairly quickly, with samples displayed so you have a visual on what you're... More

Yes it is a chain, but they serve nice pastas and sandwiches and salads - made to order. Always good if you are in a bit of a hurry. Enjoyed my salad and still regretting not getting that scrumptious looking brownie!!

My wife and I both loved this place. Calling it a cafe is a little of a reach, but it is a great little deli. We both got salads. The "small" salad was probably big enough for both of us. Everything was fresh and they will put whatever you want on it.

Walked right by it several times. Stopped in finally and was amazed to see their offerings. Freshly displayed desserts, sandwich fare, hot bar and salad bar. A vegetarian dream come true. My SRIRACHA salad was delicious and turkey club with avocado on italian bread...unbelievable!! No wonder the place is packed. Don't miss out on this jewel.

Great variety to pick from. Prices reasonable considering NYC is expensive. Friendly service too. Recommend for sure.

Good for a quick bite but expensive for the quality. Used mostly for breakfast and lunch by local business workers and occasional tourists.

We had breakfast at this cafe. Walked along the street and found it to be crowded although there was enough room. Meal was very good with only one cook doing the entire meal. You can sit at your table and watch him at work. It's a work of art. Worth seeing as a highlight. Price was reasonable and the atmosphere... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
