I love this place! It's a combination Japanese supermarket and eat in/take out quick food mart. An amazing array of products and the food is surprisingly good and reasonably priced. A hidden gem in this part of town.

An excellent experience!!! Japanese supermarket and fast food. I had sushi, sashimi and misso soup, my BF had noodles. All of it cost less than U$25. Definitely I'll go back soon.

I was craving for noodle soup and I found this place through Yelp, just one block away of my hotel - Soho Grand. This is a Japanese market were you can get fresh stuff, snack and food to go. I ordered a beef udon soup. It was very good. Great value for money. Friendly staff.

Sunrise Mart is a very comprehensive supermarket for Japanese speciality foods and ingredients. I usually stock up on seasonings, rice crackers, green teas and soba noodles, but this place has wonderful bento boxes and prepared foods that you can take out or eat on the premises. You would never know this, unless you went inside and saw for yourself!

I grew up in New York but currently live in Japan now. I happened to stop by here the other day when I was shopping in Soho with a couple of my friends. Being Japanese, I obviously have high expectations for Japanese food, but I really loved Sunrise Mart. It is primarily a supermarket but they also have bento boxes... More

If you are looking for a really good and quick lunch in Soho on the run then Sunrise mart is perfect. The sushi and sashimi is fresh and for $8 they have a great bento box that you can have them heat up or heat up at home. A kids favorite.

I asked for no pork in my soup but got pork anyway. When I took it back for a new one I watched form upstairs as they laughed and took the pork out rather than giving me a new soup. Thanks for ruining my lunch break.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
