Very creative dishes! Apple kimchi was brilliant! Great atmosphere! Clean and nice service. Couldn't order Saam dishes because we were only 4. I wish they offer smaller saam options.

My daughter has a gluten intolerance. In the past, we were able to order the pork belly ramen bowl substituting the ramen with rice several times. We were told this time they have never done this and cannot. I ordered it anyway, and the broth was so salty I could not eat it. We had the shitake buns - still... More

This is well worth a visit! Already queuing for lunch at 11.45am. We had lunch at the bar chatting and watching the chefs beaver away. We both had Vietnamese soft buns with pork, delicious. Very authentic and very exciting. Good service too; fine attention to detail and appreciation of the diners.

I've been wanting to go here for a couple years and we finally made it on this trip. We weren't disappointed. The ramen is really delicious and the pork buns outstanding. But our favorite part about the meal was the slushy vodka drink that was fruity with a little spice. You HAVE to try it.

Love ramen and practically have tried the major ones in the city. I keep coming back to this one, still the best. Downside is the long wait so I only go first hour when they open for lunch or first hour in the early evening. Also, if you hate communal seating, then this is not the place for you. I... More

We arrived at Momofuku Noodle Bar at about 6 pm on a Sunday. I am a big fan of David Chang and wanted to experience one of his places in person. The first thing to know is that it takes reservations only for parties of 4-8 people that have chicken; everyone else is first come first serve. We were told... More

Chef David Chang offers his unique brand of sophisticated and inventive food to the masses at this simplified version of his Momofuku restaurants. Ramen highlights the menu at the Momofuku Noodle Bar and there are options for everyone from the signature pork belly and pork shoulder option to the mouthwatering Hozon - a paste featuring fermented chick peas with other... This is my favorite restaurant in all of Manhattan. Food is superb and not ridiculously expensive. Staff and service are super attentive without making you feel stupid. Always daily specials but the shiitake mushroom buns are the best thing on the menu. This visit we also had the spicy green noodles with sausage, the brisket buns, the brussell sprouts, and... More

This is a must if you love ramen or if you don't know what ramen is, go anyway. The best one is the pork belly (it tastes as bacon), but the Chicken Pho and Hozon were also delicious. Do not forget the buns!! The place is usually full, but we had a short wait of 15 min.

A very good fusion of Korean and American. The bacon and egg buns were really good. The ramen is supposed to be the star dish of the restaurant, and it was good, but I think there are better options. Worth visiting, either with friends or family. Booking is tricky. Therefore, if you are going for lunch on a weekend, be... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
