My hotel didn't offer breakfast and Macchiato was right around the corner. I bought a tall Americano, a croissant and muffin to go. A great way to start the morning.

Just had a freshly baked almond croissant and large latte. Both were very good. Establishment was spotlessly clean. I have been here before, every time I stay at the Fitz next door I will always come here. Better than Starbucks!

Macchiato Espresso Bar is located at the corner of the Grand Central Terminal. I went there early morning to have breakfast. The cafe opens at 7am. I ordered a coffee latte and a bagel (~$9). The staff was polite and the service was swift. The barista prepared the coffee nicely and the quality was excellent. The milk was steamed well... More

In the sea of Starbucks, Pret and the other big chains in New York it's refreshing to find a small espresso bar that makes good coffee. Prices are good, the staff are friendly and it was righ next door to our hotel so it was just what was needed.

I was looking for some different coffee shops other than my usual starbucks and found this one online. I got an iced mocha which was delicious. Only gave a 4 star because the ice melted very quickly (within 10 min and wasn't hot out) and it didn't taste very good when watered down.

So I use to work across the street from the 52nd street location. There were plenty of times when I would step out of the office and pick up a dozen cookies for my department. They were everyones favorite. Warm with gooy chocolate chunks and pieces of butter in the folded dough. Pure heaven. I have eaten many cookies in... More

Finally, great coffee near the UN! I try to avoid the chain coffee places like Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts because their coffee is just well, bleh. In my search for a decent cuppa, I stumbled across this gem. The baristas know what they are doing and great at making recommendations to suit your taste - even their iced coffees are... More

The bagels are delicious and the Orange juice I recommend it for a good breakfast or brunch with friends, doesn't have a bathroom

Only wanted a cup of tea and a croissant. I was very clear at order point that COLD milk only in the tea (I know from previous experiences that Americans just can't do tea) After an unexplainabley long wait and two gentle reminders a cup of tea appeared with foamed milk in it. It didn't resemble tea. By the time... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
