Stumbled onto this after discovering La Goulue closed. Apparently one of the owners moved a couple of blocks away and has been enormously successful...we know why...from the warmest possible welcome from Suzane (owner) to the most charming servers and stunning presentations and flavors, we couldn't have been more pleased!

In NYC for holiday weekend. Pre Thanksgiving dinner. Three of us had Salmon, Lobster Ravioli and the hamburger. All were very good, well prepared. Service was first class. House French Pinot noir was overpriced at $66 but that's the norm. It was good. Not too noisy. Nice room and not pretentious.

Walking back to our hotel after a long day exploring Central Park and The Met we discovered this welcoming gem of a restaurant. Our friendly server Andreas was very knowledgeable about the menu and was fun to chat with - he added so much to our dining experience. We ordered cocktails and watched 'the regulars' being greeted and seated at... More

Good French food with a wonderful welcoming staff and nice neighborhood ambiance. The staff is welcoming and yet behaves professionally. Good beet salad and salmon with lentil dish is wonderful. Save some room for my favorite dessert, the "Floating island".

We had incredible luck in restaurants this NY trip and this place was the best. A cozy attractive bistro which is mainly a neighborhood place. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and were allowed to pick out table. The service is incredible with several waiters at our beck and call. We enjoyed chatting with them between courses about NYC... More

Popular sort of expensive little French restaurant with fusion "Mediterranean" food, some weird like pesto pasta with escargot. Local crowd, tight tables, friendly service but with average food and wines. Not smart or fun.

This was a nice surprise. I had just visited a photo and art exhibition and now I was starving. I happened to see this place from across the street and decided to check it out. The menu told me this wasn't going to be the cheapest meal I have ever had - but not the most expensive, either. I walked... More

Love love love. Warm environment and food that is as good for you as it tastes on the palate! Innovative dishes at every turn. Owner Suzanne could not be lovelier and her staff is also top shelf.

Came across this place whilst walking around the UES neighbourhood. Beautiful French-style food and the cosy, warm atmosphere that one would expect. The owner is friendly and up for a chat. The waitstaff are knowledgable and helpful if you're stuck making a decision. Low lighting is easy on the eyes. Food is delicious - the daily specials will be advised.... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
