Growing up on the streets of NY, places like this store are part of the web that makes it so Great. As soon as I walked in, it felt like I was back on Brooklyn again. Service was Excellent and especially the fresh pasta and...cold cuts. Thank you for making this trip to San Diego so enjoyable. Ciao my friends. See you soon. VitoMore
The freshest of fresh pasta, made in the store daily, coupled with friendly and cheerful employees. Plenty of imported Italian food, included produce, cheese, and you name it. It’s nice to just stroll inside, but you will be tempted to buy something. They have small...$1.50 salami and cheese sandwiches.More
Okay, let’s be sensible here. Want amazing, fresh pasta in San Diego? Answer: Assenti’s. Look no further.
Fabulous food. The fresh pasta and sauces are terrific. Definitely worth the trip and money. Very friendly and helpful. Would take home anything without hesitation.
This little local pasta shop in Little Italy is excellent, fresh made pasta of all types everyday, very friendly service and other Italian specialties to buy there as well (cheeses, bread, sauces, etc.). If you like authentic fresh pasta, this is a great place.
Best place for fresh pasta in Little Italy. They have a great selection, and it is so inexpensive. Get this make a simple sauce (or buy one of theirs) and you can impress all your friends at a dinner party. They have a Italian great...sausage, cheese & wine selection too. Note: They don't take credit cards.More
This is a specialty grocery, rather than a restaurant - which we did not comprehend until we arrived. We had no real cooking facilities, just a microwave at the hotel. Given the rave reviews, we did buy two different frozen lasagne servings. It was okay,...and I am sure it would have been better properly cooked in an oven, but it was still just standard well-prepared Italian fare - nothing to laud. To be fair, perhaps if I could have bought pasta to cook, and an available sauce, it might have been better than standard. These dishes were just good Italian.More
I started my culinary travels in San Diego, well I also grew up in San Diego. But I wanted to learn how to make Pasta, after trying for a month and gave up. Then I found Assenti Pasta Co, and it was less then 3...miles from me house.. Brothers Luigi and Roberto are friendly and helpful. I have moved away from San Diego but visit often and before I head to the airport I'll stop off and pick up some pasta and take it home and freeze it. I still haven't learned how to make pasta, but why, when Assenti's makes the best.More
Pizza, Lobster pasta & Samon pasta - each exceptional in taste flavour and price! You can't go wrong at this restaurant!
This pasta is so fresh you'll see them in the next room making it from scratch. I love pasta but this pasta is soooo tasty once you've tried you'll never go back to regular dried pasta again. There are many choices of pasta and flavors....There are also Raviola frozen but they make fresh Ravioli on certain days so yol need to check which days with them, oh and don't forget the fresh pasta sauce in the fridges. Happy eating CiaoMore
Always stop by and get pasta to take home. It's the best fresh pasta you can buy. They have sauces and cheese and other condiments.
After returning from a vacation in Italy (and taking cooking classes there) I was in the mood to try to replicate the dishes I learned to cook while on vacation. I wanted to make my own pasta, but didn't have the time (or pasta machine)...to do so so, but luckily I remembered Assenti's. We bought fresh pasta and sauce here before and it was very good and figured it was as close to homemade as I was going to get. After all, after having fresh, homemade pasta it's hard to go back to dried pasta. They have an array of pastas including spaghetti, fettuccine, linguine, and pappardelle. I also found the Italian cookies we really liked as well as an assortment of Italian extra virgin olive oils, wines, and other ingredients used in Italian cooking. Prices can be a bit steep for some items, but if you're looking for fresh Italian pasta and/or imported Italian foodstuffs this is the place to go.More
Great fresh pasta for sale at retail, and many flavors and shapes. The pasta is so good you could eat it raw, and I often have. Cooks in just a couple of minutes. Hardly needs a sauce, but they do have sauces that are also...good. The prices seem high to me, dramatically higher than you will pay in an ordinary grocery store, but I guess the quality makes up for it. They don't accept cards, just cash, so be prepared. There is a cash machine in the store, but of course with the inevitable service charge. The high prices and cash-only rule are the only downsides. The pasta is delicious and the service is friendly, they always make you feel welcome and appreciated. It's a family-owned and run business and has that warm family feel to it.More
My only fresh pasta source - great sauces and balsamic vinegar selection as well.
