There are many so called"Irish Pubs" in Downtown San Diego. This was the real deal. Atmosphere, bar staff, and live band, all Brilliant. Haven't tried the food, but will do. Dublin itself would go some to beat this pub

4 friends from Ireland spent 2 weeks travelling California/Nevada and by far the best food we ate during the 2 week trip was here. The draft beer is very good as well and the waitresses/staff are very friendly and helpful. Came back for breakfast the next morning and it didn't disappoint. A little pricey but well worth it.

We popped in to sample the Irish bar. Both of us went for a Guinness, but it just didn't taste right, not horrible, but certainly not like a Guinness should taste like. Good to see poker on TV, don't see that often.

I had an early lunch here after seeing it on my Trolley Tour. Lunch wasn't being served until 11:30, but I ordered at 10:45 and was promptly served a delicious Shepherd's Pie. I try to have one at every Irish Pub I go to, and this was one of the best. Service was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was relaxed and... More

We went in for beer and appetizers. My Miller came out unchallenged so I ordered a draft which only came out after my appetizer and I complained. The onion rings were over cooked and awful. The chicken strips were flavorless but the potato skins were good. Our waitress could care less and was tipped accordingly. There are so many good... More

So we found this Irish bar, and thought why not. Good little menu, friendly staff. I ordered the stew, thinking well if the meat is poor (as it often is when hidden under the darkness of gravy or the blanket of a pie lid) at least I can dip the bread. Turns out the soda bread was the worst part... More

My wife and I hosted two friends to drinks and dinner at this Irish pub. I am Irish! The hostess reception was less than encouraging, waitress was disinterested/preoccupied. We ordered drinks: the beers were OK although not chilled. The food was forgettable: Shepherds Pie: OK but the serving at $17 was very small Two had corned beef: in both serves... More

Went here couple years ago music was great food super. Came back with local friends tonight..music like rockabilly not Irish. Fish on fish and chips if ever served in Dublin would have been an insult to Irish food . Sent it back did not eat anything it was overcooked and nasty . Waitresses were sweet attentive .

Twice we went for drinks in this pub & on both occasions the staff were less than friendly & rather disinterested, certainly not the Irish friendliness they're trading on

Dublin Square Irish Pub & Grill doesn't just look like a piece of Ireland-it actually is a piece of Ireland. Before getting shipped across the Atlantic Ocean to its home in the Gaslamp Quarter, the pub was manufactured on the island by O'Sullivan Interiors. What's more, it's based on an authentic pub whose roots stretch back to the early 1700s. Guests can experience this homage by sidling up to the Irish oak bar, or toasting themselves next to the cast-iron fireplace in the Victorian Lounge.

Of course, the food and drink are likewise Irish-inspired: beer-battered fish and chips, Guinness-braised beef, and an Irish lamb stew loaded with potatoes, onions, carrots, and fresh Colorado lamb. On certain nights, the pub buzzes with trivia competitions, karaoke performances, and sets from live bands.
