Good foods top to bottom. Good beer at reasonable prices. Good tequila list. Bartender was very friendly and a lot of people seemed to know and like him. That's a good sign that it's for real. All of the staple Mexican foods, I want to have this restaurant in my town.

Just like my Grandma's cooking. My Grandma was from the state of Jalisco Mexico. The food is delicious. Home made flower and corn tortillas. I had the pork carnitas. My wife had the enchiladas de mole. My friens shared the molcajete . Lava stone bowl with shrimp, beef and chicken fajitas. Margaritas are small but potent. Free mariachi music. Just... More

Carnitas plate with homemade tortillas is the best! A tradition for out of town guests to experience great Mexican food!

I never knew there was an Old Town San Diego - so this was an unexpected surprise. The food at this café was delicious and very affordable. The wait was about an hour to be seated and they don't take reservations. The bar was pleasant to wait in and it made the hour long wait seem very short. They have... More

This was our second visit there and even though I like the ambiance and the old Mexican style, I had a hard time relaxing and enjoying the meal. The waiters seemed to be running through the restaurant to take orders and then deliver them promptly. Our waitress was very sweet but only had time to smile and make sure that... More

We've eaten at several restaurants in Old Town over the years, so decided to give this landmark a try. We loved the tortillas made before our eyes, and the rest of the food was good. It's just regular American Mexican food, but the ambiance of the place makes it just a little better, and knowing that it's all made here... More

We had no idea we would find this place and in fact, we were not even looking for good Mexican food. Came to San Diego for a Stampin' Up! convention at the San Diego Convention Center and stayed for the weekend just outside of the down town area in the Old Town area at the Courtyard Marriott. This is a... More

I recommend this to everyone going to Old Town, and have taken many people there. It's the best Mexican restaurant in town (maybe in the world)! I normally order their carnitas plate, which I can almost taste now, and find myself beginning to salivate. Sorry. Their food is just the best, and the little Mexican ladies are making the tortillas... More

We went into the jungle that is Old Town on a Saturday night. When we saw the lines we said "what were we thinking?" then we braved it and had a very pleasant experience. Put our name in and were told the wait would be an hour....then we went to the bar and everything got better! We got drinks and... More
