Upon the recommendation of a local, we visited The Rose for lunch in lovely South Park. Small and informal, one feels like part of the neighborhood immediately...as if you have visited many times before. The food was imaginative and perfect...a sprouted pea shoot salad with radish and burrata was extraordinary. As one who cooks a great deal, I begged for... More

Having spent the morning at Coronado dog beach, and having just washed our dogs at South Bark Dog Wash, my husband and I were walking about SouthPark looking for a suitable venue for breakfast. We stumbled upon the Rose and have already vowed to return every time we come to San Diego. Our meals were absolutely perfect. The hollandaise is... More

Recently moved to South Park a few months ago and stumbled upon this great place for happy hour! Five dollar wine, flatbread specials, great cheese board. It's a cute place, not overly crowded or pretentious. Bartender was very nice even when she got a little busy. Super glad I found this place and added BOUNS I can walk! Try to... More

Went to this wine bar one evening for dinner. We arrived without reservation around 9pm on a weekend and only had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Drink service was available during the wait. Upon being seated, I promptly ordered a bottle of wine as I was thirsty. Be warned, there is a $8 corkage fee on wine bottles... More

This adorable little bar in the heart of South Park has a really nice homey feel with games on the shelf and plush chairs to kick back in. The avocado toast is a popular brunch item although I tried the inventive and tasty breakfast pizza with egg, peaches and bacon. I definitely will be back to try the alluring bites... More

The Rose is named after its location in the historic Rose Grocery Store building. To construct its tasteful, functional interior the owners almost exclusively used reclaimed materials. Featuring small-producer/Terroir-focused wineries from around the world, this place is a newly minted neighborhood gem. On a recent visit we especially enjoyed the 2009 Falesco Merlot from UmbriaThe food menu features well composed... More
