Stopped in for a quick bite after work and was greeted by a personable bartender named Casey. His service was prompt, his drinks were great, and the food was delicious. I will certainly return to Lucca Back Bay.

Due to a flight delay, we arrived late and were hungry at 10:30pm. Our hotel was right near Lucca Back Bay and I was quite happy to see a rather large variety of choices on their 10:00pm to 1am menu. The pizza was very good and a number of dishes were offered in full or half sizes, with the half... More

An amazing place. Great atmosphere, a nicer restaurant for sure. Been to MamaMarias, Sorrelinas & Giacomos and Lucca Back Bay was better than them all no doubt. Amazing meal started with Calamari in red broth which was amazing followed by proscutto over buratta and coponata. Both apps were amazing. Our pasta dishes were exploding with flavor. I had the garganelli... More

We have avoided Lucca's Back Bay after a poor experience a few years ago, however I am pleased to say we gave it another try as it is a beautiful and well located restaurant in Boston. The food was great. I especially liked the grilled calamari and cauliflower appetizer. The combination sounded not particularly favorable to me but our charming... More

We were here for New Year's Eve. There was a special set menu for the evening. All food was perfectly seasoned: - Amuse - Pulled pork with carrots - Ragatoni with veal, beef, and pork sauce - Panna Cotta The wine selection is surprisingly good and we found a perfect wine to pair with the dishes. We were seated in... More

Seated upstairs facing a service station-my personal pet peeve. My chair is rickety and they don't have the wine we ordered . Will see how things turn out.

When compared with the many other Italian restaurants in Boston, Lucca gave a fair showing, but didn't reach the level of excellent or outstanding. Nice atmosphere, but the high ceilings make for a very noisy room acoustically, hard to have a conversation without shouting across the table. Waitstaff was competent, but not over and above. We enjoyed our salads which... More

Dinner with business colleagues. Service was very pleasant, helpful, not overbearing. Rather a limited menu - but the choices were interesting - not typical Italian. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I had a green salad (I chose to omit the gorgonzola) and lobster gnocchi which was excellent; semifreddo for dessert (yummy). Boring bread.

Our reservation was for 8pm on Saturday night. Worst time EVER to dine out .... right? Not at Lucca. They did not let us down one bit. We were shown right to our table. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. The food ... from the oysters through entrees to cheese board and port at the end of the meal... More

We were invited to join our extended family rehersal dinner. The wait staff, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were extrordinary. It was an excellent event, many thanks to our host and hostess for inviting us. Definitely a must try venue.

Lucca Back Bay is the sister restaurant of Lucca in the North End. The Kitchen, headed by Andres Cruz, embraces classic Italian cuisine with a contemporary approach. Andres works closely with the finest purveyors and local farmers to ensure that nothing but quality produce enters his kitchen. From house-made pasta and breads, to handcrafted desserts, the cuisine is a thoughtful, well executed, process.

Lucca Back Bay offers two dining styles. The elegant main dining room at Lucca Back Bay is the perfect place to relax and enjoy world-class cuisine and exceptional service in a fine dining atmosphere. The cozy and intimate lounge at Lucca Back Bay is a great place to hang out after work, whether that's at 5pm or 1am. We have been told that we have the best burger in town, a staple on our bar menu which is served nightly until 1am. We stay open until 2am every night, with a large industry following, and feature a large collection of house-infused spirits.

Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
