Was greeted nicely (I love it!)...At 15$ good buffet spread....with somosa, pani puri and naan included... loved the mutton curry and roasted / grilled chicken...and saag-paneer.. and, must add, nice service... sure to re-visit.. (pls note the phone number in... More

I was not very hopeful given the number of subpar reviews here. But I was pleasantly surprised. I was visiting Boston for a few days on a business trip and came here with a large group. We shared a lot of dishes most of which were very good to excellent. I thought the lamb korma was the star of the... More

We were a bit reluctant to try Mela because of some less than positive tripadvisor reviews, but we decided to take a chance, and were impressed by the food, staff, décor - a great evening. We had mulligatawny soup, chicken korma, beef coconut curry, garlic naan, raita, and 2 large Taj Mahals. And it was affordable. Large portions, very pleasant... More

We did the vegetarian dinner for two. For $40 we got soup, naan, samosas, two entrees, two desserts and coffee/tea. The food was tasty (but it could have been spicier) and the service was great.

After our favorite local Indian place closed down, we despaired of finding something as good at a good value. Mela filled that void for us! Nice selection, friendly staff, great location too!

We love Mela. This was our third time eating at this wonderful Indian restaurant. The food is well prepared and super flavorful. Be careful, it is extremely easy to overeat! Try the rogan josh.

Whenever I am in Boston I visit Mela for my Lunch Buffets. Buffet is great with so many great Indian options. It's cheap and Authentic unlike other Indian restaurants around food in which doesn't taste like authentic Indian Cuisine. Highly recommended if you are looking for Authentic Indian food in Boston.

For lunch, I frequently go to Fooda in the Prudential. Mela often serves food there, but today I had a very poor experience with their food. The rice was a little crunchy, the chicken tikka masala and palak paneer were very salty, and the mango lassi had a weird texture. Although Indian is my favorite type of food, I do... More

Nice location, but food was not tasty, especially for the price. We ordered Baingan Bharta (eggplant dish), chicken vindaloo, and garlic naan. We asked for spicy. Spice level was as expected, however, the dishes lacked 'depth' of flavor...the curry in vindaloo tasted very watery and the Bharta seemed to lack certain spices. What was surprising is that the food was... More

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
