I was referred to this restaurant by hotel staff, who said it was the "best seafood in Boston". I've not tried EVERY seafood restaurant in Boston, but what I had was tasty indeed! I limited myself to the raw bar (a dozen oysters, four different varieties) and a bowl of clam chowder (because Boston). The oysters were very fresh, with... More

Out of towner looking for a great, local seafood house and this was recommended...what can I say, just fantastic! Excellent assortment of fresh oysters, clams, and crab (we sampled everything on the raw menu) and everything was great. The hot lobster roll was just incredible, and if you have room, you must sample the johnny cake. Put your name on... More

Make sure you step by Neptune. This is an iconic place where they serve the best, best lobster roll in town (real lobster meat, nothing else). All the raw bar and seafood is amazing. I've been here many times and will keep coming!

There is always a huge line up in front of the restaurants - and it's definitely justified! They manage the line up very professionally, and once you are in - there is no sense of rushing you out. The clam chowder is excellent - packing a lot of clam flavor, but not being too rich and thick. Other versions are... More

If you are in the mood for a lobster roll, this is the place to go. They serve it hot, with butter or cold. Pricey-the roll was $30 but lots of meat -what do you want it's lobster, all you need is a beer to go with it. It was a long wait-1hr, 45 mins, but we were called around... More

It was crowded upon entering but as a solo diner, got seated within 10 minutes vs the 2.5 hour wait that was being quoted for bigger parties. The clam chowder is exquisite as well as the hot lobster roll. The fries, however, were cold and disappointing and would have much preferred to have just the roll itself.

I had the North End Cioppino. Wait was minimal which is very unusual for Neptune. Decor is very nice. Room is small and very noisy.

Casual lunch. Terrible system for getting tables but they're busy all the time so I guess no motivation to change. Fresh oysters and great lobster role. Would recommend for a fast friendly lunch.

This was by far my favorite meal in Boston. Stopped in here for a late lunch ( 2 ish) and was lucky to snag a seat at the bar. Enjoyed conversation with other diners as well as the personable and helpful bartender. Had a few oysters and a fabulous and huge lobster roll with tasty fries. This place is very... More

First off, the wait for Neptune is not exaggerated by other reviewers. Around 6pm on a Thursday, the average wait for 2 people being quoted by the hostess was 2.5 hours - 3.5 hours!! I truly lucked out as I am traveling solo and was very happy to sit at the bar and was ushered in within 10 minutes of... More
