Our company hosted post-event drinks here at Clarke's recently and it's certainly a classic watering hole, with a good number of beers on tap. A lot of folks from nearby offices drop in throughout the afternoons and evenings, and seems to be a favorite with the occasional Faneuil Hall visitor. Not a bad place for a quick drink!

Went in hungry on a Saturday night, had friendly & efficient service even though it was very busy. Great pepperoni pizza & husband enjoyed his Reuben. Will be back!

Clarke's is what looks like a typical bar that happens to have food. Wrong. It's a typical bar that has GOOD food. Been for lunch at least once a month and sometimes more. Excellent burgers - recommend the A-1 burger - but the salads are excellent with several choices of which my favorite is the Cobb Salad (with chicken) or... More

I ate here on October 12 with a work group. I have eaten here on numerous occasions mostly for lunch. I typically get the Turkey Burger with waffle fries. Pretty good! Since I work in Portsmouth, NH now, I do not know when I will return. Enjoy!

After touring Quincy Market we needed somewhere to sit down and eat. All the restaurants around the market seemed overpriced, so we ventured into the next street. Glad we did as we found Clarkes. Mainly a bar with some seating for food - the menu looked okay and at a price I thought was right. On arrival, I noticed that... More

Kristen was the best! She was super friendly and a great bar tender. When my hubby didn't see a BLT on the menu, he asked and she was like no problem! That's great service. All the bartenders were friendly and attentive. The food was always hot and delicious. We tried the sampler platter of appetizers and they were also delicious.... More

After spending the afternoon on a harbor cruise, I set about the neighborhood in search of food and drink. I had walked by it earlier in the day, and had forgotten about it until I passed it again on the way to Quincy Market. I stepped into a somewhat small pub, it was not too busy (3 pm) and I... More

Just another "Irish" pub in the financial district. Busy, noisy, poor service. Food was disappointing. We had drinks and went elsewhere for dinner.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
