If Al Capone’s were on triple D’s it would definitely be a dive! The place is old and kind of run down but the food is cheap and very good. The subs are huge so you won’t leave hungry.

They don't skimp! Food tastes great. This is not the place to go if you are on a diet. The Sub sandwich bread is made on site, It tastes awesome and is definitely a foot long. Pizza ingredients were awesome. The Italian sausage is some of the best.

I've went here on a number of times for the subs. Price are reasonable for their giant subs. If you're on a budget and want a big sub sandwiches, go here. I like there pastrami and steak subs.

large portions and fair prices on sandwiches, pizza, and salads. They do it exactly as you ask each and every time. Maybe not the most inviting of buildings, but you won't leave hungry.

Recently picked up a few subs to go for lunch, great taste and great prices considering the 20" size of their large subs. A decent selection of toppings to choose from.

homemade everything with huge portions and great prices. you can't go wrong here. The pizza is great, thin but not too thin with a nice crunch and the subs are fresh and delicious

I went there for breakfast and had their "House Special". I was rather late 10 a.m. on a Friday morning, so they were very busy preparing the lunch orders for the office or construction workers all around (they are in the financial district). Al Capone's has a very special atmosphere, the walls are painted brick, the tiles rather old, everything... More

Good hole in the wall lunch spot downtown Boston. I came in after the lunch crowd and there wasn't a wait. Subs are huge so bring your appetite! I had a chicken salad sub which was very, very good. Definitely a not diet friendly but worth it.

Let me get the cons out first: this is not the place where you want to go for your dates. The interior decor is nearly nonexistent, and the lack of air conditioning makes this literally a hot place to eat. That being said, you should not be deterred from coming to Al Capone's. Traveling from Houston, we wanted something good... More

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I ordered the breakfast special, but after the pancakes, eggs and home fries I still had enough for a lunch on the run while we watched the leaders of the marathon cross the finish line. This place has restricted sitting available, but take out would be just as good from the... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
