We were seated quickly by friendly staff. We ordered wine that was larger than most. Wife and sister ordered steamed lobster special. I had lettuce wedge with blue cheese dressing. Lobster was very good and reasonably priced.

From the man at the door to the table bussing staff, they were all quite nice. We were essentially there to drink and they did not disappoint. One of our daughters just moved to Boston and we were visiting as I had not been there...More

It's famous and it shows. Tired food and tired staff. They need to appreciate that they are ina privilaged position and start to Really welcome their customers. A pint at $8 is steep and the staff couldn't give a bollocks whether you were alive or...More

My husband and I felt like we stepped back into Ireland when we walked in the door! Great atmosphere and great music. The chowder was really good. The fish and chips was good, but I've had better. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even...More

Yes it's probably touristy but it was the first place we came to and they had live music and the beer was cold. I didn't think the bartender too friendly but we stopped for the beer and music. We did not eat there.

The food, the drinks and the atmosphere are always great. The waitstaff is also very good and very busy. However, if you are on the waitlist, even though they stay they will text you, pay attention because we were overlooked and I had to get...More

My wife and I recently enjoyed the Black Rose on State Street in Boston. The decor was traditional "pub," and the waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The draft Guinness was about as close to what you can get in Ireland as possible. The food...More

Was so excited to come here. Got the Shepards Pie.. worst I have ever had . Mush with hardly any meat. Looked more like a bowl of soup. Very small servings.

Had breakfast at the Black Rose. Authentic Irish pub with pictures, flags and items that make you feel like you're in Ireland. Food was very good. Large portion sizes. Great price. Excellent service.

The Black Rose is set in a very touristy area, so I understand the reason it was very full, and very noisy. The food is more American than Irish. The food was very dissapointing, we had appetizers, and actually left most of the food. I...More

To be sure , play it safe, make a reservation, (I was there with my wife and seating was not a problem but not many tables that can handle 8).

I've give them a call. I think the entertainment schedule changes. We were there by 6 and a man was performing. Can't recall the day of the week, however.
