Best place to go in Boston for German food. Noisy just like the real deal in Bavaria. No complaints with the bratwurst and red cabbage with hot german potato salad. Bread pudding was a very filling dessert.

We both had schnitzel sandwich with various sides. As stated in the title, it was good but not very good. We had lunch. Would have been disappointed if we had paid the dinner prices.

If you want authentic Bavarian cuisine this is the place to go. Stick to the German selections on the menu and you'll have a truly superb experience in surroundings which are today inimitable.

Loved the outside so thought I would give this place a try. Glad I did.. Serves pub food ( hamburgers and the like) but also has a small German menu. I tried the pork weiner schnitzel and spätzle. Excellent choice. Also had the fried pickles- a bit spicy but not overwhelming

If you are in Boston visiting, then you may want to include Jacob Wirth's as stop on your exploration of Boston. The restaurant is old and has character. First let's discuss the positive aspects. Jacob Wirth's is well situated to the theater district and the restaurant does have an extensive beer list. The menu is oriented towards German type food... More

Jacob Wirth's is one of the oldest restaurants in Boston. Food is excellent and differs from the typical menu's you find everywhere for this price range. Always Octoberfest with many, many beers. The staff is top notch and works very hard as the place is busy. If you have the opportunity to be there on Sat. nights when the German... More

German restaurant with an insanely long list of beer choices, German food, and many other options. We had a hamburger as well as some German dishes, and my kid it was the best hamburger he'd had in ages. All that in an old building (it's been in the same spot since the 1860s) that's great to check out.

We stayed at HI Hostel wondering if the next door restaurant was worth it, wow, we had to convince ourselves not to return for every meal solely on the basis of trying new restaurants! Highlights: Sausage, Beer, Apple-anything, the veggies that were served on the side of the meat sampler... the high ceiling not-in-America atmosphere

Tons of draft beer choices, and the decor will have you spinning around wanting to check everything out. It's loud and fun and right in the theater district. Food is also quite good, come and check it out

Jacob Wirth is a historic restaurant that is a lot of fun to experience. Their menu and drinks list is exhaustive and has some Boston highlights. The old school pub style is a fun atmosphere, especially if you catch an evening with live music. Try the Caesar salad with anchovies!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
