We went to Sonsie for Sunday brunch. With 3 couples at our table they didn't skip a beat. Our waiter was amazing, totally on beat with us. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a good bloody, Bellini, mimosa or raw bar in the morning. The best of everything here at Sonsie, can't wait to go back!

We arrived mid-evening for dinner. We were seated at a table and water was poured and then we were left on our own for about 20 minutes before we were able to catch the attention of a waiter across the room by waving 2 arms in the air. This was after twice waving in the attention of other waiters/busboys/hosts and... More

We went to Sonsie for my birthday. The restaurant is really cool. The menu isn't huge but there is definitely something for everyone. We had the mussels and they were very good. Our waitress was excellent. The only downside, it's very loud and seating is tight. We were seated in the back along the wall. Our table was so close... More

Three of us went in for dinner on a monday night and had a delightful and delicious time sharing a few plates. Everything we had was well executed and we would order again. ++ Calamari ++ Green Beans ++ Apple Soup ++ Squash Pizza and after that we still were able to split a cheesecake and coffee. Service was very... More

Sonsie is in a great location on Newbury Street and is a very attractive and comfortable restaurant. We had a reservation for brunch and were seated immediately despite arriving early at the busy restaurant. The menu was great, with a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items at very reasonable prices. Everything we were served was delicious, and the wait... More

We had a reservation for 6 PM but arrived at 5:30 thinking we would have cocktails. They asked us to sit at the bar or the "cafe" until 6 PM. The dining room was empty so I guess they were not seating for dinner until 6 PM. The cafe is an area of small tables with white tablecloths. We selected... More

Went to Sonsie with family of four last Sat.. a.m. for breakfast. Two of our party ordered the FRESH SQUEEZED orange juice at $5 per glass. Sitting at our table, I watched our waiter across the room reach under the bar table and pour our orange juice orders from a Plastic TROPICANA bottle. This is is completely disingenuous if not... It's a nice place to have breakfast. The food is pretty good and the presentation is quite appealing. The ambience is nice. The waiting staff are fast and accommodating. One of our family placed his order late and they did their best to serve us simultaneously.

Good but not great food -but a fun setting with open doors and a young following that clearly enjoys the ambience.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
