Legal Sea Foods has long been my favorite New England chain restaurant. The New England clam chowder is some of the very best, and always has tons of clams in it! Other highlights include the Thai-style calamari, the lobster and crab rolls (which can be ordered with out mayonnaise – a huge plus for me), and the fresh grilled fish.... More

Legal Sea Foods has long been known as one of the premier seafood restaurants in the Boston area, and the restaurant at Copley Plaza lives up to this billing. Although it's a bit pricey, the service is excellent and the seafood, especially the crab cakes, is very good. They paid special attention to my friend who is gluten intolerant, coming... More

My wife and I had a late afternoon meal of clam chowder at Legal Sea Foods today. The chowder was very tasty and was served with a hard shell dinner roll. A bowl of chowder cost $9.50, not a bad price for a generous serving that was filled with clam meat. The restaurant staff were all very nice and helpful.... More

I was not expecting to enjoy the food at this restaurant as much as I did. I expected fairly high prices and indeed the prices were around $30 per dinner but the fish was fresh and very, very good for the most part. The calamari and cioppino were good although not exceptional. The grilled fish assortment was worth the trip... More

The lobster was fresh so it was legal, the crab dip was alright now, considering the prices in Boston I would say I got what I paid for.

Well - we were told this was going to be a unique experience - and it was but not a good one. Service was poor and slow, too many mistakes, food was not cooked as ordered, wine was off, food items were missed off plates and had to be requested. Microwave cooking at its very worst. The comment from the... More

Having visited all of the Legals locations around Boston, I can attest to it usually being a very good meal... but this time, it was very disappointing. The restaurant was busy, but not really more than usual, and yet our server was decidedly absent. Our drinks (wine, beer and sodas) took a very long time to arrive. This was the... More

If you like, or want to try seafood, and you are visiting Boston, do not hesitate to try Legal Seafoods. They are the gold standard for quality and safety when it comes to seafood. My favorite dishes are fried clams, salmon, lobster bisque, and the clam chowder

On our way to a jazz event, we stopped for a delicious meal and had a lovely window table, perfect for people watching or being private. Our server was delightful and helpful and committed to get our meals served with good time for the show. We had a glass of bubbly and the evening began wonderfully. Good food, great service.... We know shopping induces hunger - and Legal Sea Foods reels in those who want to splash down for a meal or grab-and-go. Our restaurant is located on the upper level of Copley Place, with direct indoor access to both the Westin and Marriott hotels as well as to the Prudential Center. Panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows overlook Boston's historic South End. Here the views and the seafood are second to none.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
