This place is directly across from the Calderwood Theatres. It is about 4 steps down from the sidewalk. The feeling I got was "disheveled". The menus were really nasty looking and falling apart. Some upholstery was cracked and torn. Just has a very used look. Had #2 bread which was great but beware dipping sauce is very spicy. I had... More

I've know about Addis Red Sea for years and have visited many times. I was looking forward this time but was very disappointed. Cash Only, no liquor. Injera dissolved quicker than it should have when eating. However, the food was still tasty. I had expected more and it will be a second thought if I return to them. Sorry Addis... More

It's was a small restaurant on the main street that appears to family run. It took about 10 minutes to find parking and you have to pay for meter. The service was friendly, but slow from ordering to delivery of the food. The food was great though. It cheaper than the places I've gone to California so that is a... More

The food was pretty decent specially the Injara's. Veggies were all pretty similar in taste. Ambience was ok - music was pretty loud and not good.

The place is simple and small but it is charming and super welcoming! Service is tremendous! Food taste great and they have it the Ethiopian way- you will eat in large bows with several "tapa like" portions and bread. You can eat with your hands as they do! It is an incredible cultural experience, even though you are in the... More

We had an amazing meal - not very expensive (I would say $$ not $$$) - good value from my perspective. The food was Fantastic - we had a variety of dishes and they were all delicious - we each had our favorites but overall we all agreed it was fantastic.

Visited for dinner. Great Ethiopian food( vegetarian options) along with appetisers and desserts ( Baklava). The decor was ethnic Ethiopian. However, to mention the service was quite slow - may be it was the weekend so busy.

The place is very rundown . A lot clutter and doesn't look that clean . The food is a little bland and CASH only . The experience was interesting and it was ok .

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
