My husband and I had high expectations but sadly were let down as the quality of the food was not good. We shared a very, very small lobster and a very fatty and tasteless aged steak. A total waste of money to be honest. One positive for the restaurant though is that the waiters were very attentive. But the fact... More

We were in Boston for the day and came here for a late lunch and what a fantastic experience. The entire staff was so attentive, the atmosphere was very nice--high energy, great decor, and relaxing. The food was delicious and we had a great table with a nice view.

My wife and I dined at Smith & Wollensky for the 10th time and each and every time it's tremendous! The food and service is consistently great. We had the best lamb chops we have ever had and the bone in Kansas City sirloin was to die for! Chef Jose recommended the coconut cake and it was fabulous. Great work... More

My friends and I decided to try Smith & Wollensky during Dine Out Boston week. This place is all it is hyped up to be and more! The location itself is beautiful and allows for both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was great, and all of the food seemed to come out at the perfect time. Here is what I... More

Nice setting with decent service though our lead waiter seemed subtly snide. Here was our order. I got the Cajun Bone-in Rib Eye. I was hoping for spicy, but the taste was so faint that it was annoying having any Cajun at all, if it even deserves to be called that. It was like they soaked it in water and... More

We recently visited the Atlantic Wharf during restaurant week. The entire experience was top notch from walking in the front door to being thanked on the way out. The server explained both menus so well we order of of both menus. The Ribeye and the Kansas city Sirloin were two of the finest steaks we have ever had.

OK, so it's a chain and it isn't cheap. But so what? Steak frites was excellent, perfectly done. Ben our server seemed to appear when we wanted and disappear when we wanted. He allowed a leisurely pace ordering just drinks then apps then more while we watched the people walk by and the tea party ship---sitting outside is a great... More

The ChateauBriand was excellent. The service was excellent and Grace made us feel like valued customers. The Wollensky Salad was different and outstanding. Adding the wild mushrooms was over the top.

We have traveled all over the US and abroad and have found no steakhouse that we enjoy more than Smith & Wollensky. It is consistently excellent -- food, drink, and service are superb. On this visit we had a filet ($40), bone-in ribeye ($55), a side of hashbrown potatoes, and a wedge salad. We also had a few cappuccinos, a... More

My wife and I made our second visit to Smith and Wollensky to celebrate our anniversary. We love the place. Service was impeccable and the meal was outstanding. It is somewhat expensive but it is, after all, an upscale establishment. They say you get what you pay for and we certainly did. Private booth with a view of the waterfront.... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
