I love when you go to a restaurant, and you have nothing to complain about, they know what they are, and know how to do it. great food and service. The prosciutto was excellent, as was the cheese board, and the pizzas.

Found this place by accident on a walk down a back path from our hotel to Back Bay train station .It looked interesting so we decided to come back for lunch the next day. We arrived, got a table, ordered a drink and our food, then settled down to enjoy the lunch of a pig platter for me and a meatball sandwich for... More

On our recent visit to Boston, we decided to drop in and check out this great little place for a quick nibble and some drinks -- not just once, but twice in two days! Yeah...it's just that good! Charcuterie has become one of our more favored appetizers and snacks of late, and The Salty Pig (TSP) does it great justice!... More

Our first visit but definitely not our last! Charcuterie board - select your own meats and cheese, all made in house. Pasta made in house as well as pizza crust. Was very busy - we waited almost an hour - but worth it. Great selection of draft beer and ciders as well.

Great place! For lunch or dinner! I was there for lunch during the week. Had the Chefs Board selection -- two meats, an excellent French blue cheese, pickled veggies, mesclun greens and house-mixed mustard... I'll be back! Had the bombolini for dessert... out of this world... peppery doughnut holes with a true old-fashion tasting burnt-sugar caramel on the side for... More

This is definitely a loud hopping spot. They only take reservations for 6 or more so be prepared to wait - or find some more friends to join you. We had a reservation and due to a snow storm 2 people in our party were a bit late- they were really cool about seating us anyway and letting us get... More

A must visit! Probably the best cheese/charcuterie I've had. The pizza was on point, light fluffy and full of flavor with the tomato sauce. Craft beer selection was excellent as well. They went above and beyond and i would recommend to anyone in the area. Can't wait to go back on my next business trip to Boston. Super friendly staff... More

If you love cheese and salty foods this is the place. We got a charcuterie board, polpette, and the salty pig pizza. The cheese and meats selection was really good. They had a caerphilly cows milk cheese from wales, which I'm not obsessed with. Polpette was amazing-and in Italian. And I'd also recommend the pizza. Good beer selection as well... More

I guess that with a name like this it should not be surprising, but I found the pasta dishes to be very over salted. The food in general is good. I do not often like pseudo Italian food (the real thing is much better), but this restaurant has good ideas. The execution should improve.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
