My wife and I have always walked by this place and wondered what it was all about. It's in a great location looking at the Faneuil Hall market place. Menu is great, but a bit pricey. I guess it has to be given its location. But definitely worth getting food and a few drinks. Wait staff is great. They made... More

Great location in a shopping district, service a tad slow, but very polite to promise to watch my shopping bags while I used the restroom, and I felt safe trusting them to do that. Nice and eclectic decor, with velvet curtains to the ladies room. Good views while dining. Velveeta burger was, wow, good, but so rich, Sensory overload! Good... More

Diverse menu; meatloaf to tacos. Both are delicious. Generous portions. Fast service. Nice atmosphere. Worth a visit. Convenient downtown location

Went here around Christmas time, it was packed. My girlfriends and I all got a few cocktails and each had a burger. We did not have much else. The drinks were okay. The burgers were slightly better. The wait staff was nice. It was a little loud and we got put into a high table by the bar. Sometimes putting... More

I had been to Anthem for a friends baby shower and thought it was great. So when I was looking for a place for my family to have Thanksgiving out this year I thought of Anthem both for the food and the central location. We had a great lunch on Thanksgiving, our server was super nice and there was a... More

Attended a training class all week in Boston and had yet to have a famous Boston lobster roll sandwich. Anthem did not disappoint. I started with a small cup of clam chowder and then devoured the lobster roll- glad I was hungry. It was delightful and delicious. Lots of lobster and not lots of fillings/dressing. Service at the bar (comfy... More

The menu offers a range of different cuisines, so is suitable for the whole family. Lovely setting overlooking the market and service was good. Not really a need for reservations for smaller parties, but for dinner I would go earlier if you don't want to book.

If you're interested in standard American and comfort-food fare with a tiny twist, this is the spot for you. If you're looking for something with a more varied menu, or a dish more on the different side of the measure, head elsewhere. My burger with bacon and cheddar was average, and the fries were good. Dessert menu description was a... More

We had a holiday lunch at Anthem. The good news is that there is a large private room upstairs that provides a good setting for such an event. I thought the good was fine, though service was slow.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
