The menu offers a range of different cuisines, so is suitable for the whole family. Lovely setting overlooking the market and service was good. Not really a need for reservations for smaller parties, but for dinner I would go earlier if you don't want to book.

If you're interested in standard American and comfort-food fare with a tiny twist, this is the spot for you. If you're looking for something with a more varied menu, or a dish more on the different side of the measure, head elsewhere. My burger with bacon and cheddar was average, and the fries were good. Dessert menu description was a... More

We had a holiday lunch at Anthem. The good news is that there is a large private room upstairs that provides a good setting for such an event. I thought the good was fine, though service was slow.

Love this part of Boston. Dropped in on Anthem for dinner. Waiter was great, service very efficient. Food was pretty low key for cost. Not impressed. Had the chicken, not one of the greats. Lots of others in Boston to try.

I'd rate this place as average. The location is convenient to Quincy Market or warming up after Winter Wonderland in Govt. Center, and they take reservations which was useful for a last minute Saturday evening. I had the shrimp & grits which did taste good, but it only had 3 shrimp in it and was fairly overpriced.

Went last night to Anthem's after a horrible experience at Bostonia. We were gladly impressed by the kind reception and service. I'm not a big cocktail fan so I had a Scotch on the rocks and my wife justa soda (no alcohol for her). We wanted a light dinner/snack so we shared a small plate and a flatbread. Everything was... This is a great choice in the Quincy Market area for both good food and service as well as location. We enjoyed a nice lunch with excellent views of the crowds of people going from shop to shop as well as the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The service was great and the comfort food was enjoyable. The Reuben was excellent and... More

This place was awesome. It was thanksgiving so I had a reservation and would probably have not gotten in if we didn't. As for right now, the christmas lights are on and they are coordinated with christmas music and it's really cool. This restaurant is at Faneuil Hall, so there is a lot to do around there as well. We... More

We stopped here for some drinks on Thanksgiving and envied the other diners' turkey dinners (as our hotel experience left a lot to be desired) and Anthem's meals looked great. We came back the day we flew home for brunch which was gorgeous. There is a nice atmosphere here and it seems popular. Decor inside and upstairs is very trendy.... More

My first time trying the Lobster Mac and cheese and the waiter was right it was good comfort food! Wonderful blend of everything from a traditional thanksgiving dinner to grilled cheese or fish and chips or a bean burger!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
