We showed up for our reservation and were told we were early...a day early! Even though it was a Saturday night they were able to find a table for us. The food was all delicious, perfectly prepared and presented beautifully. A roasted beet appetizer, halibut for my wife and roast venison for me followed by a creme brulee for dessert.... More

I had a great evening at Deuxave. Fine seating, nice tables, attending staff was nice and the food was god. I had the carpaccio with tartare as a starter. I am not sure whether the gelly stuff that was on top of the tartare was a quail egg, but anyhow. Main dish was NY strip, well done, but the sauce... More

Visited with a party of 8 . More or less classical French bistro like cuisine but executed very well with overall great balance of tastes. Started with the carpaccio combined with steak tartare. Juicy carpaccio and excellently prepared steak tartare with home made chips , small tasty cournichon. As starter Tuna which was great accompanied by fries and Brussels sprout/... More

We walked to Deuxave after a Friday afternoon BSO concert. The weather was lovely so we wandered through the Prudential Center on the way and stopped for a draft ale at Bar Boulud. It has been several years since we had visited the Pru area and clearly fashions have changed. When we arrived at Deuxave we were graciously seated and... More

Upper class service and food makes it a great destination for a romantic dinner. We took the five course chef's dinner and almost everything was perfect(desert was just OK). Overall, a great experience, great atmosphere and a nice evening out.

We went here one Saturday evening for a Birthday celebration. The décor is lovely, modern but warm and welcoming. It was so cozy and relaxing even though its on busy Mass/Com Ave location. They have Valet parking at $20 which is a nice option given the location. We had cocktails at the bar...the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lots... More

the food was just OK. For the price we were expecting something special. We thought the appetizers were very good, but the main course was average at best. The service was excellent!!

This is a special occasion restaurant. It receives top marks in all areas: food, wine, service, decor and ambiance. It is beautiful in an understated, quiet way: high ceilings, spacious seating, a lovely stone fireplace with a roaring fire, large windows, tiny lights, low lighting. It is romantic and elegant. The service matches: very professional, friendly, unobtrusive, knowledgeable. The food... More

Deuxave is noted as a top 10 restaurant in Boston. Beautiful interior, small dining area but the table arrangements create private spaces at most tables. We were seated on schedule and the service was impeccable. We shared the beet salad that was fantastic. I ordered the duck entree which was prepared perfectly. My wife ordered the Tortellini Bolognaise which was... More

Description
Co-Owners Brian Piccini, Executive Chef Christopher Coombs & General Manager/Sommelier Jason Irving are proud of their award winning Restaurant & Bar, Deuxave in the Back Bay. The inspiration behind the restaurant's American Nouveau Cuisine is seasonality, with a focus on working with the finest farms and purveyors, sourcing out the freshest, local ingredients and amplifying their magnificence. The cuisine is strongly rooted in the nouvelle techniques of contemporary French cuisine, married with the splendor of American ingredients in a refined, but casual setting. Deuxave's (pronounced doo-ave) name plays homage to its location at the corners of Commonwealth Ave and Massachusetts Ave.

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighbourhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.
