This restaurant is small by American standards and the tables are very close together which must make life pretty difficult for the waiters. As a result, it can be a little noisy when it's full. However, I love everything else about it. The food is terrific and seems to have that unfussy, authentic, home-cooking Italian style. The staff are friednly... More

We have been here several times and have Never been disappointed. We were entertaining a guest with multiple food allergies and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food is always fantastic and the portions generous. Valet parking in the north end is a big plus

Finally seated after a 95 minute wait from our 6:30 reservation, after being told when we arrived that it would be 2 minutes and they were clearing our table now. Then 10 minutes later.... just 10 more minutes... you get the picture. The food was good, really good - but that's not hard to do in the North End. If... More

Great food, large wine selection and let's call it "cozy" atmosphere. It is tight but so what-the food was great and the staff was very friendly. You either eat upstairs near the very active wine bar and near the front door (cold when it opens in the winter) or downstairs in a slightly more intimate yet none-too extravagant setting. We... I am not sure how you differentiate these awesome boutique Italian places from one another but Nico was very solid. Ambiance was nice but not outstanding - very intimate as most of these North End restaurants are. Downstairs darker and quieter than upstairs, where there is a smallish bar and some tables. The service was outstanding - from our waiter... More

I made a reservation here based on reviews and when we arrived (15 minutes early) the hostess let us know the people at the table we would be sitting at were just finishing up so we decided to sit at the bar and order drinks. I watched several couples come in after and get seated almost right away (no reservation).... More

I found this North End gem during Thanksgiving weekend. It is a classy, yet unprententious place. I had fussilli with vodka cream sauce. and shrimp. it was some of the best pasta I have ever had and was very filling. The staff is very professionally dressed and attentive

Food was exceptional, great. Even though we had a Groupon, the service was excellent. The waiter was very helpful and our order was prepared fast. We would go back any time.

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
Wandering around Boston’s North End can feel like being transported to Europe. Stroll down Hanover and Salem streets for the finest Italian restaurants, bakeries, cafes, and a few boutique shops. Take part in the big debate as to whether Modern Pastry or Mike’s serves a better cannoli. Before your food coma sets in, make sure to stop by historic Paul Revere’s home, and follow the Freedom Trail to Old North Church and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground. Take a rest in a cafe on Hanover street and observe the quirky, European character of the North End.
